Unobtrusive bolthole

A deceptively large, unobtrusive boutique style hotel tucked away on a narrow, one-way street conveniently located in the city centre. As our room faced the street there was some noise. Unfortunately, there is no lift or private car park - although there are several pricey (this is Denmark) options nearby.
Our room comprised a bedroom, sitting area and bathroom (with bath). Although the bathroom was a bit ‘retro’, the remaining rooms were well furnished and up-to-date. However, the pillows left something to be desired – soft, with zero support resulting in neck pain every morning. Also. there was no minibar, tea-making facility or bottled water in the room or, indeed anywhere to get a drink in the hotel. The room had access to a communal roof terrace but we were too early in the year to take full advantage.
The desk staff were all polite, charming and very helpful.
We did not take breakfast there (there are so many wonderful options close by), so cannot comment on that service.

A nice time in Aarhus at the SOFS

We felt very comfortable at the SOFS and appreciated the walkable neighborhood atmosphere. We also liked the breakfast very much, whether in the garden or in the separate room. Those who have a light sleep should best reserve a room facing the courtyard and bring earplugs.

This hotel room was small and basic and the staff at the front desk provided minimal services. The location was excellent for exploring Aarhus, although noisy on a Friday. Overall an ok stay. If going to the art museum, ask the front desk for a discount.

Do not select rooms facing the street at this hotel

The hotel is well located in the middle of the city. But if you are staying here, choose rooms with a window in the backyard. We had room out to the street and there was very much noise until 4 a.m.

Great hotel, super clean and quiet. Highly recommend for a stay in Aarhus as it's in the perfect location to walk everywhere.
