Centrally located nice hotel, with helpful & informative staff.
We got a little in “panic” when the night’s hotel, absolutely did not live up to the expectations, so we were a little on “sticks” which on arrival was “disassembled” & we enjoy a nice atmosphere and a nice functional hotel, in renovated gl. building

A hidden gem full of quality and high level of service
I woke up this February morning feeling quite uplifted. And that was even before breakfast!?
My husband and I just spend the night at Hotel Europa in Aabenraa. And though place in the middle of the city, there was almost no noise from the surroundings.
Yesterday we were met by Helle, a smiling, welcoming woman who greeted both me and my husband, who arrived a bit later. She offered freshly baked cookies, coffee and tea from the local (and rather famous) tea-store.
The room was clean, tidy and had a certain atmosphere due to the hotel's age. We had a room on 3rd floor but still there was no problems when e.g. filling the tub with hot water. The amenities - soap and bodylotion - smelled lovely, felt nice and had some organic ingredients. Tea and coffee-facilities in room free of charge.
We also visited one of the two restaurants at the hotel - very good, kind staff - and afterwards we enjoyed a cup of coffee in the lobby/lounge. Very relaxing and privat.
The breakfast had several organic opportunities, and it was surprisingly good (we did not expect such a high standard because the price in total was rather cheap). Hotel Europa offers freshly baked buns, ryebread from the local bakery, "rundtykker", high-end cheese, humus, vegetables and fruit, homemade juice, eggs made by order, baked beans, sausages, yogurt, crumble, cakes and so on.
When checking out we met Lasse, the most welcoming and kind and talkative front desk-worker. We talked about the hotel and the area and their priority for hiring educated/trained staff (chefs, waiters and so on) in order to maintain a high level of service (which they certainly lived up to). We highly reccomend a stay at this hidden gem - Aabenraa is very beautiful as well with old streets, shopping and close to the seaside. Surrounded by beautiful nature).

very helpful staff. Fox and Hounds was a great pub. room was small, but as advertised. clean, comfortable. I woke with a great sunrise.

A hotel with a lot of noise at night
The combination that the hotel is very poorly insulated and there is a lot of noise and noise, makes us think it is important that people know it before booking. One room had pre-fest before they went to town, at 4:00 we had a full man who stood in underwear and knocked on our door because he had gone wrong. At 6:00 a.m., the children’s families began to get up. There should be room for everyone, including us who just want to have a night stay, but here I think you have to find that other hotel.

Vi er meget kede af at høre, at jeres nattesøvn blev forstyrret flere gange i løbet af natten. Vi har fuld forståelse for, at en god nats søvn er en vigtig del af et hotelophold, og vi beklager, at opholdet ikke levede op til jeres forventninger.

They don't have air conditioning
The hotel lists air conditioning as one of the amenities, but that is not true. There is only a ventilation system in the rooms. We were there on a hot day and had exclusively booked this hotel room due to the air conditioning, so was very disappointed. The reception came with a floor fan that helped, so the service is impeccable.
