A lovely resort with a holiday camp feel and lots to do and see.
Our family stayed in the self catering apartments at the Maistra Select Amarin Hotel in August 2026.
We had booked as part of an Easyjet Holidays package and for a very reasonable price for high season. Our transfer was on time and even called us as the EES system meant we took a while to get through passport control. It was equally timely on the way back and arrived exactly when the app said it would.
The resort itself has far more of a holiday park atmosphere than we were expecting. We hadn't appreciated in the description that the resort offered camping, glamping, self catering and the hotel experience. So far more of a holiday park vibe than we were expecting. But very nice, well organised, tidy and pretty. It should also be noted that the premier self catering apartments are up a small hill so wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. However, it was fine for our family. The apartment was lovely, with a great view and very comfortable beds.
Arriving on a package holiday it would have been useful to be told that check in is not until 3pm and we had arrived on a very early flight. We would have booked a later flight had we known this. The check in receptionist also got quite upset that we didn't have an accommodation voucher from our travel agent. I explained to her that I had booked directly with the Easyjet Holidays website and only had what it said on the app. Fortunately I'd printed out our confirmation but she was quite adamant that this was not sufficient - until suddenly it was! After being up since 2am to catch our flight it was not the friendly welcome I would have liked. Also pack teatowels, a plug for the kitchen sink and tabs for the dishwasher. We had none and the great onsite supermarket didn't have these either.
The trips to Rovinj which are easy via the regular ferry boat or the little train car that goes from reception. However, these are between 16 and 20 euros each way for a family of 4 so bear this in mind when budgeting. It was very easy and convenient.
Rovinj town is absolutely beautiful and there are lots of stunning restaurants.
It was impossible to get a sunbed near the two pools our entire week stay as other guests get up at 6am to hog these for the whole day!
It wasn't a major issue though as there are many along the vast promenade. There is also a lovely area to sit under the trees near the sea where you can swim. Take sea shoes as it is a stone beach. But really beautiful. The sunsets are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. I would definitely visit again despite a few hiccups.
We did a dolphin tour through GetYourGuide and a trip to Lim Fjord. The latter was better and better priced than the former.

Experience to be repeated.
We ended up here almost by chance. The place amazed us with the countless services offered and the number and countless recreational and hospitality activities. Courtesy and availability to be framed.

The perfect family resort
We are very lucky to have travelled a lot but as a family resort destination this place is fantastic. I cannot understand the negative reviews the whole place is just immaculate. We stayed in a duplex which felt brand new and perfect, all facilities including pools were exceptional and the outlook and access to Rovinj is stunning. As a family, I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

A fallen star
A seemingly perfect place - 15 years ago.. Super location, but poorly maintained. We stayed in a premium apartment for 5-6 people. Here there was a strong smell of mold in the bedrooms, and there was an ant invasion in the living room. Steer clear of the buffet restaurant, it was expensive and bad. Pool restaurant just ok. The resort handles reservations of sunbeds on the beach very poorly. They lack a system here, so all beds are occupied with towels for much of the day, even when no one is there. Too few parking spaces, so you have to be lucky if you don’t want to park far from the apartment. It is clear that the new family hotel is prioritized so that maintenance and follow-up of the resort was omitted. We stayed here 12 years ago and were very happy with exactly the same type of apartment - but will certainly never return.

Fine place with good facilitieis.
However the “split” of the pools between the different accommodations and contanst request for additional payment is silly and makes no sense, for guests already paying.
