Sofitel Xi’An: Good
Sadly, one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in but, the staff were amazing, responding with toppers (though made little difference).
Service is great throughout the hotel, it’s well kept, breakfast was excellent every morning and the rooms, though beginning to feel a little dated, are an excellent size and well equipped. It’s in a great location and shares an historic location with the Sofitel Legends.

Our premium / executive room was clean and spacious and the breakfast quality was excellent. I paid extra for access to their club lounge and its worth it for extra snacks and drinks. Hotel is about 15/20 minute walk to a metro and 30 min walk to the old town centre (bell tower). Area is safe and is easy to use DIDi (uber equivalent) via the Allipay app. No food places nearby but in house hotel food is high quality and town centre is nearby - definitely visit the Muslim quarter for food, and the shopping centre opposite the bell tower if you fancy high end chinese food at affordable western prices.

WOW! WONDERFUL HOTEL
I stayed at this hotel and had a great time. The breakfast is truly incredible, with a wide selection of high-quality products. I would really say WOW!! Savory, sweet, oriental, there is everything!
Upon my arrival, they gave me an upgrade and my room was wonderful, very spacious, clean, and well-furnished. Mine was equipped with both a shower and a bathtub, a comfort that was truly appreciated. Furthermore, there were numerous complimentary amenities, including slippers, a bathrobe, and everything necessary for a pleasant stay.
It is a 5-minute drive (Didi from the Muslim quarter) and 15 minutes from the other attractions. But as you know, in China you can also get around with DIDI!
I absolutely recommend it!!!!

Dissapointing stay.
Extremely disappointed with this stay. The room was dark, dingy, and felt like it had not been updated in years. The toilet bowl was old and worn, the wooden furniture and fittings were visibly deteriorating, and the ceiling had numerous holes and defects that gave the entire room a neglected appearance.
The location was another major drawback. It is far from the Bell Tower and other key attractions, making sightseeing inconvenient. To make matters worse, there are no convenience stores nearby, so even buying basic necessities becomes a hassle.
The only positive thing about this hotel is the low price. Unfortunately, even at this rate, I do not feel it offers good value for money. There are far better options available in Xi’an for a similar budget. I would not choose to stay here again.

While our hotel may not be within walking distance to the Bell Tower, three metro lines (Line 1, Line 4, and Line 6) are within walking distance, making it very convenient to reach the Bell Tower and other attractions. Moreover, the 40,000-square-meter garden courtyard where the hotel is located offers a peaceful and relaxing resort-like atmosphere—another one of our key advantages. Across from the hotel is a Wei Jia convenience store, and a five- to six-minute walk brings you to Freshippo Supermarket. We will strive to better communicate this information to our guests in the future.

Amazing stay and we didn’t want for anything. Front desk staff, concierge, breakfast staff and lounge staff were all unbelievably friendly and exceptional service. The food in the lounge and breakfast was just awesome and plenty to choose from. Our room was superb and nothing was missing for a luxury stay even down to the bath salts. Highly recommended.
