We arrived as guests and left as family

What a marvelous stay! We were so well taken care of from booking to check out and we truly felt like family during our week long stay. Mariposa manager George was super helpful getting us set up with travel to/ from Placencia airport, a golf cart, a couple adventure trips, and welcoming us upon arrival. My wife and I were so touched when we walked in the room and saw how staff had lovingly decorated for our Wedding anniversary - thank you Hali and all that helped create such a warm and creative welcome for us. The staff of Mariposa were all so attentive, helpful, and friendly - special thanks to Gladis, Marlon, Shephanie, Jason, and Priscilla. Meals were excellent as we had breakfast and dinner a number of times. Thank you Shephanie and Jason for the magical anniversary dinner setting on the beach! Thanks to Chef Ermito for preparing the blackened snapper for our dinner, so delish, that we had caught earlier that day on the inner reef fishing.
Mariposa is a wonderful 1st class resort and I included their Mission Statement in the photos - we arrived as guests and left as family. I told George as we left that he and his team had achieved ALL promised in their Mission statement and Core values- excellence, family, consistency, and unforgettable!! Thank you Mariposa for making our anniversary trip
to Belize one we will treasure and never forget.

Beautiful and amazing service

My sister and I had a wonderful time here. The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to help. You are greeted with a cool towel and drink when you check in which was totally appreciated. Marlon did an amazing job showing us around town and making sure we had everything we needed. Shefanie, Priscilla, and Emma are fantastic servers and make delicious cocktails. They even made sure we had breakfast to go when we had an early tour departure. We stayed in a beautiful deluxe tree house with a hammock. Only one thing missing from this gorgeous room, more electrical outlets. The sounds of the birds are a lovely way to wake up in the morning.

Excellent stay - highly recommended !

Arrived for only one night on my way out to Ranguana Caye. Could have easily stayed a few more nights - Mariposa is one of the very best! Quiet, tranquil surroundings, but near enough to the more crowded town center.
Was picked up in Placencia and arrived to a cool tropical drink and refreshing cold towel. Room was spotless, beautiful natural hardwood floor, spacious shower, A/C!
Bar and restaurant staff were of the highest personal and professional standard - especially Gladis!
When I return to Placencia, I’ll be sure to return!

Great place in Placencia

Our group arrived there and was greeted with cocktails and cold towels ( day was very hot). The cabins are super cosy , clean and equipped with AC.
Kitchen and bar are outstanding. Every single dish we tried was delicious and made from fresh ingredients.
Special kudos for the staff for accommodating a large group and making it seem super flawless. Very professional and friendly.

Wonderful Boutique Hotel with Friendly Staff

This was our 3rd trip to Belize and our 2nd stay at Mariposa. Family of 4 adults for 5 days, so we booked 2 treehouse rooms. Great location, beautiful property, yummy food and the staff was extremely kind and accomodating. The hotel (Marlon) even booked our adventures for us (Monkey River boat ride/walk to see howler monkeys and manatees with Wilfred, cave tubing at Jaguar Paw with Anthony). One of our party was not comfortable in smaller planes, so Marlon came to Belize City to pick us up at the airport. We drove the Hummingbird Highway down to the resort (with a great stop at the Blue Hole per his suggestion) and the Coastal Highway back to the airport so that we saw lots of varying countryside. Marlon was very knowledgeable and kept ys interested with facts and tips about the country. He offered eating and activity suggestions in Placencia throughout the week - we especially enjoyed Tutti Fruti (almost every day), Omar’s, the Garifuna drumming group at Tipsy Tuna and of course, the shops on the Sidewalk. We will stay at Mariposa again for any future trips in the area. We love this small boutique hotel with staff that treat you like family and a pool that’s never crowded.
