Fantastic
Thank you Alain for letting us stay at your five star accommodation. Cannot wait until we return again. We were so impressed by the accommodation home from home. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Myself and two friends who came to ring the bells at St Georges had the most fantastic and enlightening time who were treated so well Dank ux

Fantastic Le Chat Noir
Ypres is an amazing place and so is Le Chat Noir.
Alain greeted us when we arrived, we were too early for check in, so after saying hello, we went into town to get some breakfast and have a look around.
Alain messaged us when the house was ready, which was only a few hours due to cleaning as there was a quick turnaround from previous guests.
The house is absolutely lovely with loads of character, set over 3 floors, spotlessly clean with comfy beds, a charming place to stay with the centre only a few minutes walk away.
Alain has a collection of WW1 artefacts and many pictures dotted around the house, which are well worth looking at, also a collection of police head wear from various Constabularies from Britan and around the world.
The kitchen is useful for meals should you wish to self cater, however Ypres has a selection of many bars, cafés and restaurants to try rather than cooking yourself.
There is also a charming private little courtyard should you should wish to sit outside on a warm evening.
The lounge provides English TV channels and there is WiFi included as well.
The fridge has beers and wines stocked with a honesty box.
Alain also provided us with money off vouchers for the museums in the town and discount for Belgian chocolates at a shop on the square.
There is also a garage to rent for parking your vehicle a very short walk away. We took advantage of this, there is free parking nearby but the garage was peace of mind.
Overall absolutely faultless from every perspective, we wilk be booking again, thanks Alain

Excellent
We have just got back from a weeks stay here and had an amazing time. The accommodation has everything you need, local to everything and the supplies provided with the honesty box is a really nice touch. We hired an electric bike on our first day from biking box cycles near the Menin gate and enjoyed the ease of cycling around Belgium that much that we spent the next three days cycling. We covered around 60-70 KM per day at a leisurely pace with little effort, and seen so much this way, with a beer along the way of course!! I could go on for ever, but too much to write about this wonderful place.Thank you Alain for your hospitality and look forward to our next visit in Ypres

LE Chat Noir -- highly recommended
We arrive at the hotel and were greeted by Alain who was very friendly and full of info on the locations of interest in the area .
The rooms were clean and tidy with a well stocked fridge of the basic,s in life .
There is a very interesting display covering the first world war in the down stairs glass case .
It is located in the center of Ypres and only a short walk to the town square .
It would be my first choice of accommodation when i return to Ypres for a visit again .

Comfortable, clean, well located and affordable.
Almost bang-smack in the middle of Ypres, literally. Just three minutes walk from the town center, this lovely, well-appointed guesthouse is perfectly placed for visiting Ypres itself. The Cloth Hall containing the "In Flanders Fields Museum", the Menin Gate, dozens of pubs and restaurants are all within strolling difference.
My principal reason for visiting the area was to tour the many 1st World War memorial and cemetery sites in the area. Not only is this establishment perfectly situated as a central location for touring the vicinity, but the proprietor (Alain) is a local expert on the subject. Alain is a fabulous guide who's depth of knowledge of the area and obvious passion for the subject are a joy to behold.
Le Chat Noir is a self-catering establishment with all the utensils and crockery you'll ever need if you want a quiet meal at home. There are lots of stores around, including a couple of fabulous bakeries and a Spar supermarket just up the road.
Saturday is Market Day in Ypres with stalls selling local meats, cheeses and all manner of delicacies, absolutely ~the~ place to shop for your breakfast and for treats to take home.
The accommodation offers a number of bedrooms (twins, a tripple and a double bedroom across three floors, with lounge (UK TV channels), dining room and kitchen plus a small private garden and there is free parking just around the corner.
Not only is the establishment perfectly placed for all the amenities, spotlessly clean and can cater for large groups, the rates per person per night are extremely good value.
As a comfortable, clean, well located and affordable guesthouse with a most hospitable host, I can't recommend Le Chat Noir highly enough and I can't wait for my next visit.
