Hotel Bero is only 150 metres from the beach in the centre of Oostende and benefits from a modern bar. The hotel offers free WiFi throughout. An indoor swimming pool and a sauna are available in Ninfea Leisure Centre on site.

Great stay

Near the sea and the center
Good hotel very close to the sea, large parking and downtown.
The welcome was very friendly and professional.
The spa is not bad, even if the water is a little cold pool level.
The breakfast was good.
The room was comfortable, even if the decor is a bit old.
Good value for money.

Ideal location
Ideal location 200 meters from the sea and about 500 from the center.
Paid parking in front of the hotel or cheaper in the streets nearby.
Free from 20 to 9:00
Very nice and large heated pool
Well equipped gym
2 saunas

Definitely a bad experience!
After many reservations in hotels in Ostend (usually perfect!) we thought we would book a 4-star hotel (hotel Bero) for 3 nights (27, 28 and 29 July).
We reserved the Classic Suite with separate room for our grandson of 15 years who still wanted some privacy.
For this we paid a total of 979 euros.
But what a disaster and an utter disgrace!
We got an old room with an annex room.
This room probably dates back to the 1970s or earlier. All the furniture was completely worn out: the first cabinet we opened literally almost fell apart.
The furniture where the kettle was for coffee was with 2 daylights of which one was constantly flickering and the coffee pods were not replenished.
But this was certainly not the worst: there was NO AIR CON in the room. What 4-star hotel doesn't have air conditioning?
This was solved by installing a mobile air conditioner that was guided out through a window with a flexible. This air-conditioner absolutely couldn't keep out the heat that was there!
Not to mention the 2 air blowers that were in the room separately. The temperature there averaged 30 degrees!
Since the window with the flexible day and night was far open we had 2 nights of street noise at 4 or 5 in the morning and the noise of the seagulls was terrible.
Not to mention the mosquito bites we have because the window was constantly open.
The bathroom with bathtub: hairdryer broken, we got another hairdryer, turned out no socket in the bathroom ! The hand soap box was empty and never refilled.
The mechanism to let the water out of the bath was completely broken, broken down so that the inside was completely exposed. The shower was probably placed by someone in a hurry and that person probably has no idea how to apply silicone!
The window in that shower room was completely painted shut probably also by old age.
We also decided to use the pool and there it was almost no different.
The changing rooms could or could not close just like the lockers.
The ceiling was already missing some tiles and several are also hanging loose there, ready to fall into the pool.
The only plus in the hotel is the breakfast, there is nothing to say about it and worth 4 stars!
Everything is beautiful on the pictures I have seen on the internet but the reality is very different.
If you think all this is worth 4 stars then you have probably never been to other hotels of 3 or less stars, we have!
We have taken pictures of everything and if you do not reply to this email we will certainly not hold back from putting it on social media or daily and weekly newspapers;

Very good, but last time in this hotel.
Decent hotel, friendly staff, spacious room. Unfortunately, we will not return because there is a parking area indicating its use for a short duration for unloading luggage. By the time I made the payment and retrieved the badge for the underground parking (6 minutes in total), I received a fine of 40 euros from Ostende mobil'o.
I contested it and never received a response from them (the city of Ostende is quite friendly ).
I have as proof a screenshot with the payment times at the hotel compared to the ticket.
What a shame! We will now continue to go to the Royal Astrid where we have never encountered this problem.
