Perfect romantic stay!

Beautiful place to stay in the center of Dubuy, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, ice cream parlor, etc.
A very spacious place with a lot of character located in a beautiful garden from which you can admire the landscape outside.
Friendly hostess who immediately made us feel at home.
Top location and privileged place highly recommended!!!

Great location to base yourself in the Ardennes

Durbuy is becoming more and more popular. Chateau Cardnael is situated in a beautiful park right in the centre but away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are very spacious but look a bit outdated and the furniture is really old and worn down. The bathroom on the other hand has been recently renovated. If you just use your room to sleep, you wont regret staying here. The room and the buidling smelled a bit funky but that could be result of the dramatic flood just a month ago that hit Durbuy hard (the results of this catastophy are still visisble all over town). You have ample place to park which is a big advantage in ever popular Durbuy.
I can defintely recommend the chateau as a place to stay;

Perfect location in Durbuy

We booked the apartment for our family of 4. The apartment is right in the centre of Durbuy. In order to get there you have to drive a short stretch on a pedestrian street. Although right in the centre it was very quiet. Apartment was very clean and spacious. Kitchen had all the appliances needed, fridge, nespresso machine etc. Bathroom clean and spacious. Living area had nice views on the garden and little streets of Durbuy. Parking was very easy, although sometimes you had to wait to get out, because of trucks that were unloading. The reception by Ann Sophie was very friendly. She checked daily if everything was alright. One minor negative was that there was only bedding for one (double) couch bed instead of two. So our children had to share the bed.

Owner cancels our reservation.

We made our reservation trough a booking website, where we were able to check a box to check in late. About an hour after making the reservation we get a text, no name, just saying "the check in is between 15h-18h. No later. If you can not be on time, please cancel reservation." We dont know who this person is, maybe its some kind of scam, so we dont answer. After research we find that its from the owner of Chateau Cardinal so we call back. The lady is very rude, doesn't want to check us in, doesn't really want to talk, all she wants is to cancel our reservation. If she was friendly we might have send someone early to pick up the key, but we decided we didnt want to stay somewhere where we are not welcome.

Beautiful apartment in the smallest city in the world!

Fantastic location and beautiful apartment in the middle of this lovely town ( city). Made a special end to our trip to Germany/Belgium by spending the evening in part of a real (old) chateaux. Would highly recommend.
