Outstanding
We have just come back from this wonderful hotel. We had the luxury twin room with a double sofa bed, it’s a really big room and extremely comfortable, if a little hot.
We rented our skis from the hotel in the basement, very simple process and charged to our room. Each room has its own heated ski locker. In the morning you would head out of the ski room and down the slight hill and across the bridge to the grafenberg lift. It’s a short walk which feels a bit harder on the way up hill on way home but no problem.
The food at the hotel is outstanding, lots of choices at breakfast and In the morning you choose from 3 choices for dinner, a meat, fish or vegetarian course for the evening meal. Don’t worry if you are not keen on any you can choose a schnitzel or there is always the kids buffet every evening, numerous salads, soups and bread. You will not go hungry. You also get tap water free of charge. I had a decent house white which was 4 € for a small glass or a Riesling was 6 € . A large beer was 6.50€. There is an afternoon buffet from 3-5 which has hot food and some cakes. I personally would prefer just cake and coffee or tea as we had to buy the hot drinks separately.
We had a wonderful waitress called Helena, she was one of the highlights of our holiday, she was such good fun but also professional.
The adults only pool was excellent , a nice temperature and we enjoyed seeing the G-Link pass overhead and watching the skiers come down the mountain. We felt the family outdoor pool was a bit cooler though but the family pool itself was a nice temperature.
What sets this hotel apart is each one of the staff members are super friendly and professional . We did not find one staff member that did not say hello or offered to help or was super polite, this is a rare thing.
The skiing also was excellent, we enjoyed every area to Flachauwinkel, Alpendorf and Flachau, all enjoyable and great for most levels of skier. We took the buses a few days which were just across the road at the grafenberg lift, one to the star jet at Flachau and the rote 8 er and also the flying Mozart. They ran exactly on time and were so reliable.
I’d definitely recommend to stay here. We will hopefully be back!

Summer in the Alps
We have just returned from a lovely week in Wagrain at the sport hotel. The hotel is wonderful with high end facilities, a number of nice swimming pools, great food and drinks good facilities for the children. It is very family friendly and a perfect base for days out in the mountains, climbing, walking, cycling and playing. I would highly recommend for a summer vacation.
The staff were great, and very helpful in supporting with our lack of German!

After several years of visit now clearly inferior quality
For us now for the 5th time to this hotel.
Experience was clearly less than previous years.
Quality food (especially taste ) and diversity (less choice / less supply)
was demonstrably less than previous experience.
What prevails is the standard formula approach, all according to fixed protocol.
Also in the kitchen with mass production.
Profit maker for the hotel are the very expensive consumptions.
With very intrusive recommendations and disturbing persistent questions!
Afternoon snacks are well cared for and of good taste.
Delicious soups.
Desserts and tarts are pretty tasteless.
Furthermore quite busy and very hectic in restaurant.
Especially curling parents with kids are dominant in the space restaurant.
Rooms ( Luxury category ) are very beautiful and permanently perfect.
Hygiene is excellent and very well cared for.
Very spacious provision towels etc.
Sauna landscape, both upstairs and downstairs, also very fine.
Very clean and very spacious.
Beautiful view of the mountains.
Pools very fine and fine temperature.
Everything very well cared for and neat.
Sports and fitness department fine and modern.
And very quiet.
Parking possibility fine ( partly covered ).
Ski space and storage ( locker cabinets ) well taken care of.
Overall prices have risen significantly.
The overall quality and location / location is permanently good.
Fixed formula approach ( mass tourism ) was too dominant
and e.g. quality of food was disappointing.
Intrusiveness of far too expensive drinks was permanently disturbing.

Perfect ski holiday
We had an all-round wonderful stay at the Sporthotel Wagrain and can heartily recommend this place!
We would particularly like to highlight the dear receptionist Marlene, who took such touching and attentive care of our dog. You immediately notice how much heart she has in the matter – we felt welcome from the first moment, and our four-legged friend was also treated like a guest of honour. This is really not a given!
An equally big thank you goes to the service staff Patrizia and Tamara, who provided us with the best culinary care. With her friendly, warm nature and her attentive service, she played a key role in making us feel completely comfortable at all times. You can feel that hospitality is lived here.
A little hint: During our stay, many international guests stayed at the hotel (including from the Netherlands and Denmark), and German was spoken rather little overall. However, this did not detract from the positive atmosphere – it rather shows how popular the hotel is beyond the borders of the country.
Overall, the hotel convinces with a pleasant atmosphere, great service and a lot of warmth. We would love to come back and can highly recommend the Sporthotel Wagrain!

Fantastic Family Ski Hotel – We’ll Definitely Be Back!
We stayed at SPORTHOTEL WAGRAIN as a family of two adults and two children (aged 2 and 7), and the main reason we chose this hotel was for the childcare facilities — and they absolutely did not disappoint.
Both children attended ski school (yes, even our 2-year-old!), and one day our youngest actually asked to go to the childcare instead of skiing — which really says it all. The childcare team were outstanding and took excellent care of both kids. We were also told that the facilities are being expanded for the 2027 season, which is fantastic news.
The location is superb — just a 2-minute walk across the road to the gondola (you can actually see it from the hotel’s front door). Having ski hire and storage in the hotel made everything so convenient, especially when travelling with young children.
The food was top class. Breakfast was excellent with a fantastic selection. Dinner was equally impressive, catering brilliantly for both adults and children. On one or two nights I may have helped myself a little too much from the children’s buffet — it was all such great quality! Honestly, I couldn’t fault the food.
There is also an afternoon snack served from 3–5pm — although “snack” doesn’t quite describe it. It’s more like a full buffet meal. The only slight drawback for us was that tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were not included and had to be paid for separately. In other hotels we’ve stayed in, complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate with cake was usually available in the afternoon. If I’m honest, I was a little surprised to see such a large food offering instead, as it almost felt like too much before dinner. Perhaps a simpler offering (cake with tea/coffee/juice like at breakfast) might work better. Just a small suggestion!
The spa, gym, and pool facilities were excellent — absolutely no complaints there.
What really stood out was the staff. It genuinely feels like a family-run hotel where staff are valued and well looked after. Many seemed to have been there a long time, and they were extremely well trained, professional, and attentive. 10/10 to the entire team.
One small suggestion would be to manage the temperature in the dining room during dinner, as it can get quite warm.
Overall, this hotel is excellent. You certainly won’t go hungry, and the quality is never compromised. It’s the best ski hotel we’ve stayed in, and we will definitely be back next year — and very likely the year after!
