Es war schön bei Euch.

Danke für die herrlichen Tage bei Euch.Das Abreisewtter war zwar nicht ideal, aber das Frühstück hat alles entschädigt. Ihr habt Euch grosse Mühe gegeben. Dafür ein grosses Dankeschön.

Too expensive for so poor service

No service although the price! When I booked by phone the room I specifically asked if a room was available with not too many stairs to do, as there is no elevator, for my elder mum. I was assured that there were only 18 stairs and the room was at the first floor. To my surprise we ended up at the second floor with the room the most far away from the stairway!! Fortunately my mum managed somehow. But when I complained to the gentle receptionist as well as per email immediately I did neither get a correction of the situation or alternative offered. One night cost us 272 Euros, so I think a serious try is due.
So no elevator, no a/c and no fridge and no service for such a high price speaks for a really shameless managing. In our case we suffered also that their was no separated bathroom but the toilet is inside the room just separated by a sliding door (and no external ventilator), also the shower is open, separated by glass you can see through from the main room. This is room 25.
In case you just need a nice view on Faaker Lake and decent breakfast and no need of getting a correct bargain for your money, you might have a good experience.

Stopover on the way south

We spent a night at the Faaker Inn on a stopover to Italy. The hotel has small but nice, beautifully furnished rooms. The balcony has a great view of the lake.
The reception is not manned in the evenings, but you get your own code for the door and can take your room key from the board.
Breakfast is OK. You need a bit of patience at the reception, as the ladies also serve breakfast at the same time, but you are then compensated with a lot of warmth
Recommended for 1-3 nights. For a longer stay, I would look for larger accommodation.

OSPITALITA' AL TOP

Approdiamo in questo albergo assolutamente a caso prenotando all'ultimo momento. Sorpresa ! Herbert (il titolare factotum) ci accoglie in italiano con tutti gli onori, facendoci sentire subito a casa. L'albergo è semplice, ma molto pulito e ordinato con ampie camere dotate di ogni comfort e gode di una splendida vista sul lago. La spiaggia pubblica, perfetta come ogni altra struttura pubblica della regione (con ingresso a pagamento che però viene offerto quotidianamente sempre dal mitico Herbert), è facilmente raggiungibile a piedi attraversando la strada. La posizione è strategica per ogni altra attività. Colazione super-extra !! Parcheggio gratuito all'aperto nell'ampio piazzale antistante all'hotel. Conduzione familiare.

Der Schatz am Faaker See

Wir haben gestern auf der Durchreise im Faaker See Inn übernachtet und sind restlos begeistert. Wir würden mit einer außergewöhnlich herzlichen Gastfreundschaft empfangen und umsorgt was sehr selten zu finden ist. Die Zimmer sind sauber und modern mit einem Traumblick auf den See. Und der Oberhammer kommt am Morgen beim Frühstück. Der Gastgeber zaubert mit so viel Liebe ein Frühstücksbüffet das seinesgleichen sucht. Vielen Dank dass wir hier sein dürften.
