Magical, peaceful and may we adopt our host?
We happened into this charming village after a long day of driving. We were cranky, tired and ready for something that wasn’t our car! We LUCKED out finding Pension Weiser! Our triple room was spacious perfection with a comfortable balcony that gave us views of the mountains (rainbow included) our host’s beautifully tended garden and neighboring farm lands. I sleep like a baby and when jet lag had me awake at 2AM I experienced the quietest night I’ve ever known as I ventured out on the balcony. Although we had a serious language barrier, our experience here proves that the language of hospitality and kindness transcends the spoken word. We were welcomed into our host’s home as if we were long lost family. We fell in love with every small aspect of this cozy guesthouse. Breakfast was of traditional European fare and it was exactly what we needed to start our day. The coffee was made by angels and the homemade jam was divine. We got to take some home with us and protected it fiercely all the back to Colorado. My next drive through Austria will absolutely include this lovely home. We wish we could’ve taken our host back home with us! We love her.

Nieprzyjazny, niezadowolony, komunikujący się itp
Zatrzymaliśmy się w tym "luksusowym" obiekcie podczas ferii narciarskich, szczerze mówiąc, gdy jeździmy na nartach z dziećmi, nie szukam ekskluzywnego zakwaterowania i to miejsce zostało wybrane ze względu na niską cenę
Jednak zrzędliwa, nieuprzejma osoba nie powinna zajmować się hotelarstwem / turystyką, właścicielka mówi tylko po niemiecku, jest bardzo niegrzeczna, krzyczy na nas i nie próbuje komunikować się w żaden przyzwoity sposób

Jednak zrzędliwa, nieuprzejma osoba nie powinna zajmować się hotelarstwem / turystyką, właścicielka mówi tylko po niemiecku, jest bardzo niegrzeczna, krzyczy na nas i nie próbuje komunikować się w żaden przyzwoity sposób

Worst hotel ever
This will be a long review, but please read everything since the ending is the most bizarre.
I visited with my father on our planned ski trip.
We didn’t want to sleep in the same bed, so we moved a mattress from the bed to the sofa bed, when we pulled out an extension cord from a socket the whole thing came loose.
The Morning after the power went off in the building because of moist in a socket outside, at the same time we thought that we should show her our loose socket since she called an electrician.
She then started to blame us for the power failure, screaming at us and using racial slurs for 15-20 minutes, and said that we destroyed the room by mooving the mattress.
When we came back from the slopes, she wasn´t angry anymore since the electrician told her the real problem, although no apology was given.
She constantly complained to us about the other guest with kids for making a mess, but since she doesn`t have anything for the kids to play with this will obviously happen. It wasn´t allowed to smoke in the rooms which is good, but the whole breakfast area and "public" areas smelled like a chimney because Frau Wieser was a smoker. On the last day she allowed us to store our bags in the basement since we had a evening flight and had planned to ski this day. When we came to the house in the afternoon to change our clothes and take our bags all hell broke loose. We don’t know why but again she started to scream at us, racial slurs all over again and said that we didn´t respect her culture, also that we were supposed to be out of the building at 10 AM even though she showed us where to store our bags. When we left, we went over to the neighbour’s property to wait for our cab to avoid Frau Wieser. After 5-10 minutes she walked outside and started to scream at us again from the other side of the street, calling us alcoholics and a bunch of racial slurs again among other things. I would not recommend this to anyone, we lived here because all other hotels were full and we booked our trips in the last minute, if this is the only hotel with rooms empty, just stay at home and save your money.

Where do I begin...the worst start to a family holiday we've ever had...the landlady (who introduced herself as our replacement) greeted us with...oh, it's you who only book 3 nights, she's never experienced anything like this before...then she talked us into it for 30 minutes without stopping...after which my children said let's go...the woman is scary...but we paid for the two double rooms in cash as requested...the receipt also said 2 double rooms...she only showed us a room with a double bed and a pull-out sofa. We then politely asked why there was only one room... (we had written contact - not a word that the two rooms would not be available!)... we booked two and paid... then it started... Mrs. Wieser did not tolerate any questions or backtalk... insulted me in front of my children... she said there were no guests, only tourists... after a back and forth argument and attempts to make it acceptable for both sides, the end of this adventure was that I had to fight for my money after she told us she did not want to take us in anymore... only after we threatened to call the police did she give the money back and we were able to escape... It looked to me like a scam to intimidate people by saying that it was impossible to get a room now... then they collect the money without mentioning that the room they ordered was not available and then they put the people on the spot... either take the overpriced room or leave and have no accommodation.
At first we thought it was a hidden camera, but unfortunately it was reality. Thanks to the great tourist information we had a great vacation.

Cannot recommend this unfortunately!
The rooms are not luxurious but they are clean and absolutely acceptable. The location is fine - just 5 minute walk to the centre of Altenmarkt village. However the host, Mrs Wieser is incredibly rude. She kept yelling at our children after they politely asked for something during breakfast which she didn’t have. Lots of xenophobic comments too. Apparently she is quite notorious for her behaviour. A YouTube video is circulating - see for yourselves. The lobby and common areas have a strong smell of cigarettes. In summary, avoid! Plenty of alternatives in Altenmarkt or neighbouring Radstadt.
