It doesn't get any better!
An all-around successful vacation!
I was there for 6 days and the only thing I have to complain about is that the time went by much too quickly. Very friendly staff, even better food, and a hotel complex that leaves nothing to be desired! Truly a dream vacation!!

Expected more
Upon our arrival, we would have wished for a friendlier welcome. The staff seemed stressed at times; in particular, the waitress Lucy was arrogant and unfriendly. The food was generally okay, but we would have wished for more cleanliness at the buffet. Overall, we had expected more from our stay..

More style than substance
More style than substance
Unfortunately, our stay at DAS KRONTHALER did not meet our expectations. For a hotel in this price range, we had expected significantly more quality, service, and attention to detail.
Already upon entering the room, we noticed the very intense scent from room fragrances or scent sticks, which we found unpleasant. The breakfast, too, did not convince us overall. Precisely because the hotel presents itself as an anti-allergy hotel, we had higher expectations for the overall concept and the quality offered.
The room with the alleged mountain view was particularly disappointing for us. In fact, we looked mostly at trees – from our perspective, there was no talk of a mountain view. After we addressed this at the reception, we did receive another room, but it was only one floor lower and, from our perspective, offered almost the same view. There, too, there was no mountain view for us.
The fitness room and our room were also mutually visible. One could see directly from the fitness room into our room and vice versa. As a result, we felt restricted in our privacy both while staying in the room and while working out.
We also felt the spa area was rather small for the size of the hotel and the loungers were not very comfortable. In our experience, the Wi-Fi only worked reliably in the reception area and in the Sky Bar. In our room as well as in other areas of the hotel, however, the connection was often very poor or at times not usable at all. Especially in a hotel of this category, we would have expected significantly better Wi-Fi coverage.
In the Sky Bar, my partner was not offered an Espresso Martini, even though it was available in the bar downstairs. When we asked if the drink could be brought up from the bar downstairs, we were told that we would have to wait about 20 minutes because the responsible employee was currently on a break. We had not expected such service in a hotel of this category.
Furthermore, we were served and charged for a double shot, even though we did not recall ordering it that way.
Since I had to depart one day early for professional reasons, we asked for an accommodating solution. Unfortunately, in our impression, no option or alternative was offered to us. Here, too, we would have wished for more flexibility and customer orientation.
Overall, the staff seemed to us to be partly unservice-oriented and not as professional as we would have expected in this hotel category.
For the price of the overnight stay, we had expected significantly more. From our perspective, the price-performance ratio was not right. For us, this was the first and at the same time the last stay at DAS KRONTHALER. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot recommend it to others.

Wonderful time at Achensee
We had a wonderful stay at DAS KRONTHALER and can definitely recommend the hotel. From the first minute, we felt very comfortable; the location is fantastic, and the property is lovingly designed, especially the hillside garden, which is an absolute highlight and invites relaxation and unwinding. The spa area also impressed us – very well-maintained and simply perfect for letting the soul dangle. The offered activity program also impressed us; from various yoga sessions to belly, legs, butt, or guided hiking/biking tours, there is something for every taste.
The breakfast buffet left nothing to be desired in our opinion. The selection and quality were excellent (especially the freshly prepared egg dishes and the freshly made porridge, which we enjoyed daily) and provided us with a great start to the day. The coffee specialties also suited our taste very well, and there were no wishes left unfulfilled. The entire service team was always friendly and attentive; a big thank you also goes to Lucy, who made our start to the day even more pleasant with her warm and open manner, her humor, and her light-hearted jokes. We would also like to express a big thank you to the chef Maik, with whom we were always able to discuss dinner regarding food allergies. We found this attention, patience, and personal commitment to be quite exceptional, and it impressed us greatly. Many thanks to the entire team (from the reception to the service, the activity team, and all the people behind the scenes) for this wonderful time. We can absolutely recommend DAS KRONTHALER and are sure of it: We will come back!

Five nights
Lovely hotel for anyone seeking relaxation and quietness. The pool was 31 degrees and big enough. The garden was beautiful. Full board was mostly ok; good quality but lacked taste.
The hotel did not have AC or any kind of ventilation, and that was a nightmare because it was hot. Fortunately the surroundings were so quiet that the window could stay open at nights.
If the hotel had an AC, better mattresses and finer linen, it would have been absolutely perfect hotel.
