Love it
Another joyful and relaxing family stay at this treasure of a location. Karri Valley continues to charm, with RAC really making a hugely positive impact on it since taking it over around a decade ago. The Chalet was lovely, full of charm and the lake and forest walks are truly regenerative, which was much needed. The only suggestion I’d have is perhaps mix up the in-room art work, so that both paintings are not the same in each Chalet, and bring back the wood cutting as that was such a quintessential experience. But we love it here and we will be back in 2027.

So picturesque, we'll come with family next time!
Karri Valley Resort is in such a picturesque location. We stayed in a hotel room overlooking the lake, overnight on our way back to Perth, and quickly wished that we had booked for two nights even though the rate is at the pricier end ($300/night vs $290/night incl breakfast for two at the Hilton Hotel in Albany which has a stunning view over the bay). The room decor was modern, with a good mattress and although the bathroom is dated, it was clean with no sign of mould. The queen bed had a huge artwork above it, right where a headboard would be (so weird to put it there!?) which meant we couldn't really lean against the wall without bumping the frame/canvas. The little kitchenette area has a small fridge, microwave, dishwashing items and some utensils even though the unit is not self-catering (you are expected to clean and store any used items or incur a cleaning fee). The TV had no viewing options, just one free-to-air channel showing old programmes (unless we really didn't know how to work the remote!); an information folder about the resort e.g. what's available on TV, facilities, restaurant menus etc. would have been so helpful! It was a bit noisy with guests using the upstairs rooms/walkway.
The only negative is the choice of dining and is the reason why we didn't award an Excellent rating. The Lakeside Restaurant is the main restaurant overlooking the lake. Lunch and dinner menus have something for everyone, but prices are at the higher end. Kids meals $16. Dinner mains do not come with any sides; we ordered pork belly $40 (which was delicious!) and chat potatoes w/ parmesan&truffle oil $16 (also delicious!). The Lodge cafe which offers a limited menu of lower priced food (pizzas etc) is a drive/walk back to the main reception and is only open Friday and Saturday from 5pm-8pm. We stayed on a Monday so were restricted to the more expensive Lakeside Restaurant for dinner. It feels like RAC are taking advantage of a captive audience. The resort is quite isolated and if you aren't staying in the self-catering chalets, the more expensive restaurant is the only dining option for most of the day and week; or it's a 20-30 minute drive to Pemberton or Manjimup. It would be good for RAC to reassess these dining options and ensure The Lodge is open every day, so that every budget is catered for.

The internet is terrible but everyt thing else ok
The view was nice but I was just so annoyed with how bad the internet is it was. It was the worst internet I have ever used and they had to fix it because it was unusable, even the person that fixed the internet said that it was extremely bad and it needed to be replaced. The internet ruined my trip and if that was fixed it would be a much nicer holiday, they even provide you with a nice tv but it loads every 5 seconds and it is unwatchable, I was very unimpressed. Some of the appliances were a little bit broken the fan wasn't great and the washing mashine is very confusing. But the furniture is very comfortable

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, can recommend the lakeside room, clean , spacious and plenty big enough for long weekend stay.on site restaurant has good quality food and nice open fire for the cooleer times . Highly recommended

The lake view room was actually sooo much better than the photos on the website. It was a fabulous way to end a camping roadtrip that consisted of wind, rain and cold - felt very luxurious.
The restaurant/bar area was amazing with a blazing fire and wrap around glass windows for the view. And don’t forget happy hour Mojitos 😊
