The room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was very convenient. There was plenty of parking, and the reception team kindly waited for my late check‑in. The pool was enjoyable and perfect after a long, hot day. The amenities were great too, with tea, coffee, and other essentials provided.

Basically, OLD rooms can still be presented in a very clean and tidy manner. This was not the case at this Motel. Floors / carpet were disgusting, the bed was broken on one side.....generally just disappointing all-round.

Booked and confirmed reservation sold to somebody else

What can I say. I don't think in 40 years of travel I have ever felt the need to write a 1 star revue, but there is a first time for everything. Arrived on a busy weekend with a confirmed booking only to be told by a staff member - who I believe may be the proprietor - that my booking had been cancelled that afternoon. Given it was not cancelled by me this was something of a mystery. The terms of the booking were such that I had given my credit card details and it would have been too late anyway to cancel and get any refund. I had booked through hotels.com and the staff member told me I should have booked direct rather than through a fee charging website.
What was particularly interesting as I went around town from booked out accommodation to booked out accommodation, was that no one was in the least bit surprised that this had happened to me at this establishment. Reading between the lines the inference was that on a busy day if they get a better offer - as in someone paying direct without fees - they may take it and bump someone out who has booked through an aggregator and that they don't see as being as lucrative. I am certainly not the first person by any stretch it would seem that has found themselves in the same situation with this place.
This was rubbish on a number of levels, not least of which was that the whole town was booked out - which this person would probably have known.
For what it's worth I had some friends staying at this hotel on the same night, who had nothing positive to say about their interactions with the same individual.
The people at the other Kerang accommodations were all genuinely helpful when I explained my situation, in particular at the Loddon River Motel and the Big 4 Holiday Park

The room was large and clean. All the fittings and fixtures were very old and worn.

Bad choice

Should have read the 2 previous reviews.
Shower room in otiginal 1960's condition apart from the silicon on mould on silicon and the mould in the cracked tiles.
Chose not to shower as behind the door a clump of black hair and other matter which we chose not to investigate.
No top sheet on the bed, hopefully doona cover replaced after previous guests?
Give this place a miss.
