Excellent
Location superb, the free tram stop is just in front of the building and made access to shopping centers, train station, bus terminal easy and fantastic.
There are eateries at walking distance. Lift to the apartment is quick and not crowded. If come to Melbourne again, this will be my choice of stay and i highly recommend.

Budget-Friendly CBD Location, but Cleanliness Needs Work
Pros:
- The apartment is centrally located in Melbourne’s CBD, offering good value for the price.
- The room was relatively quiet, with minimal noise from outside.
- Linen and towels were clean and fresh.
- Reception staff gave a thorough explanation at check-in and was helpful once we connected.
Cons:
- The microwave was filthy inside, with food stuck all over it.
- The rangehood was also dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned.
- No hand soap or hand towel were provided in the bathroom.
- The shower hose had a large hole, causing water to spray everywhere.
- There were piles of hair on the carpet — very unhygienic.
- The mattress protector was torn and should be replaced.
- The complimentary beverage box was poorly stocked: no sugar, only two milks, and just three regular coffees.
- Reception wasn’t at the desk when we arrived, despite knowing our arrival time — though he did eventually meet us outside and escort us to the office.
Overall:
If you’re looking for a cheap place in the CBD and don’t mind compromising on cleanliness and maintenance, Winston Apartments might suffice. Personally, I wouldn’t stay again unless these issues are addressed.

Do not book here!
The rooms weren’t clean and service is terrible. We haven’t received our bond back after a month and three emails to them. We requested new sheets and were handed them to change our self! I definitely would book else where- very disappointing!

Could be cleaner…
The booking, check in and instructions were 10/10 - cannot fault the customer experience.
The room was tiny - a tiny apartment but adequate for our needs and the inclusions were good.
My gripe and reason for low rating is the bed situation and cleanliness.
The ‘king’ bed (two singles pushed together were clearly old and well used. One side had a mattress protector, the other side did not- and the mattress clearly had blood and vomit? Stains on it - visible through the sheet! The pillows did not have pillow protectors and were stained yellow.
It was too late at night to rectify so I spent the night on the sofa. Reception were contacted and the bed was remade with a mattress protector - I advised it was unhygienic and needed replacement. They said they would after we check out. I hope they do!
In all, some more attention to cleaning wouldn’t go astray! Eg, vacuuming - carpets looked like they had not been vacuumed, the vacuum in the place had no suction.
Didn’t know what yo think of the pet protector over the couch - kind of ruined the ‘cute’ decor…. I’d focus more on bed than couch if I was them!
Also, on a very windy night the high pitched drag of air/wind noise was very annoying, impeding sleep. A towel at the base of entry door fixed that.
Would I stay again…. Because of the mattress - a big no. As for the facilities and location it’s a shame as it’s a good location and staff.
