A hotel in Alice

My sister and I stayed 5 nights at the DoubleTree by Hilton and were very happy with our choice. The hotel is situated on the edge of town near the casino (away from any potential trouble spots). Parking is behind secure gates, reception is locked late at night and room corridors are only entered using your room card. Security is good, but I must add we never encountered any issues in Alice Springs and felt quite safe.
Our welcome in the majestic lobby was great and included DoubleTree's delicious welcome cookies! All the staff were friendly and hospitable. The hotel has a lovely lounge bar with an outdoor area, a beautiful lobby shop and two restaurants (although the Thai Restaurant is not operated by the hotel). The meals including the buffet breakfast were plentiful and delicious. The hotel also has a nice pool area, water features with carp and a very handy self-service guest laundry.
Our room was superbly appointed, it included lots of comfortable seating, desk area, table, huge TV and two queen size beds. We were upgraded to a mountain view room and this was very much appreciated.
I can't recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs highly enough, it is superb.

Nice hotel, but restaurants don’t open at the times listed, tried to get a meal and both venues closed at 8.30, not the 10pm listed.
Check in was horribly slow.

Reasonable but could easily be better

Located just 2.3km from the town centre (it's an easy walk along the Todd River). Nice entrance and foyer and two very nice restaurants with excellent meals (reservations required for dinner at Saltbush restaurant but not at Hanuman). The entire complex is a little dated giving off 2010's vibe. Rooms and the foyer have obviously been maintained well and had minor upgrades over the years since construction however.
The hotel has most of the things you expect, including a lovely swimming pool, clean rooms, the two very nice restaurants I already mentioned, and 24-hour reception. There is also a resident Peacock who wanders around the grounds showing off.
There is no gym however and the fact that you are expected to pay extra for wi-fi is so out of date and feels like nothing but a money grab in this day and age (pretty disrespectful to modern travelers in my opinion). There is also no shuttle bus or other transport options into town or to and from the airport.
Overall the hotel was more than adequate and I would stay here again without complaint (except for the wi-fi which I would complain about).

It was ok place, not what you would expect from the Hilton brand and the price paid. Everything is outdated, including staff members, who need more training in customer experience, guest needs, and the products they offer. Bedding sheets were ripped; no sleepers; bathrooms were not cleaned and were from the 90s; and wooden spoons (really).

Road trip into Australia’s Red Centre.

Location is great here in Alice. Atmosphere of hotel is relaxed and warm. Rooms very comfortable with the world’s largest snuggly pillows. Great value of this stay allowed us to relax after our road trip into the red centre.
