Beautiful Peaceful Guest House

We loved our three-night stay here in this wonderful relaxing place. The property is in a perfect location in a quiet street just a few minutes walk up the hill from the centre of town. There are a number of buildings set in a spacious well-tended garden, which was perfect for relaxing after a hard day hiking in the amazing mountains of Tilcara. We received a lovely warm welcome from the owner who has limited English but unlimited patience with our rather basic Spanish. We stayed at a busy time so needed to move rooms after the first night, but this didn’t present any problem for us and was handled smoothly. The main buildings each have beautiful common shared sitting rooms which added to the sense of space. A lovely breakfast was served in these areas each morning. Our second room was a smaller one without additional space but with the garden area at our disposal we felt very comfortable and relaxed here. The whole place had the feel of staying in a beautiful private home, with a real personal touch, and for us so much nicer than an impersonal hotel stay. Tilcara itself was a wonderful surprise, a tiny town, with an amazing setting amongst stunning scenery. I would not hesitate to recommend putting Quinta La Pacena on your itinerary for a stay in Argentina ‘s beautiful North West.

Not that great

It’s more like an AirBnB than a hotel/posada. The place is nice but it’s poorly cared for and the very little service they offer which is breakfast is awfull. I wouldn’t stay there again. athey need to understand if they really want to have people staying there or not.

Beautiful homestay

I can only echo the previous reviewer’s comments. The location is quiet and secluded but minutes from the centre. Lili and her husband were lovely hosts. The property is large and the garden is relaxing and spacious. I loved my room as it was private and just perfect for one. The property felt like being in a home and maybe other guests had not stayed for a while as there was some dust but definitely the cleaners came by each day.

lovely place

We spent 3 days with the family, we felt we were at home. Quinta la Paceña is amazing, we had a whole wing of the house, the owner Lily was divine, helping and assisting us constantly, from booking it over the phone to even turning our heaters on before the night !
Its very well located, breakfast was lovely and served on our own living room, where we could still wear our pijamas. Travelling with many kids we coulnd´t have had any better arrangement for our stay in a hotel. Definetly a favourite

A small piece of paradise

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our three weeks in Argentina. The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. The garden is a wonderful place to relax, read a book and watch the hummingbirds. The owners and the staff seem like they love doing what they're doing. The breakfast was a bit to much carbohydrates compared to we are used to, which we kindly explained and next day they made us some yummy omelets! A perfect and tranquil starting point to explore Tilcara and the surrounding area.
The owners and staff don't speak any English, would have loved to be able to talk more to them. Have to practise more Spanish before we come back :-)
