Good hotel

Good location.
Good service from the staff.
Comfortable bed.
Clean and complete bathroom. We got a room where the bathroom faucet was constantly leaking. A shame!
Suggestions. Add other options to breakfast, such as fruit or cereal. Passengers who have early excursions cannot have breakfast since it is served starting at 7:00 AM.

Standard

A hotel located not far from the bus station. With restaurants nearby. Comfortable beds and average rooms. Typical Argentinian breakfast, nothing hearty but OK. The staff keep a low profile but are there for you.

OK but not the best choice

Alto Parque is an extremely out dated hotel. The furnishings and decor should have been updated a decade or so ago. It is borderline clean enough and most of the staff are awesome, but for the price point there are way better options unless you want to be able to walk to the bus station. (15 minute walk)

Sleep (if you manage to fall asleep) and quit

Hotel is located close to downtown, but right on a very busy street - be sure to request rooms with a window into the yard! The rooms are rather unfurnished, the staff is almost never trying to speak English & breakfast is very simple. The city of Salta is rather unattractive and ugly and hotels are incomprehensibly expensive than elsewhere in Argentina, but because of trips to Cafayate and Humahuaca is appropriate here to stay.

Experience depends on the room

First night we slept at the front of the hotel (room 205) It was cold at night (no heater or extra blankets) and also very noisy due to the traffic outside. Also the wifi signal did not reach the room. We asked for another room (room 306) and the second night is was perfect. Sun at the balcony, not cold at all, wifi worked perfect. Both rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok. Credit card is accepted. At walking distance from bus terminal and main streets and square. Only the hotel gave us some information that was not correct about getting into salta from cafayate (costs 104 pesos pp but they said 10) and also about the tour we arranged at the hotel; we were supposed to do and see more than really happened, also the lunch was not included in the 395 pesos pp cafayate tour.
Overall great hotel, recommend to stay there, but book your tours directly at the agency.
