Decent all-inclusive but missing that Caribbean island feeling….

As an all-inclusive, this resort met our basic expectations. Food was fine at buffets and the restaurants were decent. We stayed at adult-only side and highly recommend it. Pools were quiet and service was great. We walked over to family side pool and I felt like I was at Disney and RAN back to my side! We had a very large one bedroom suite with living room. We had a partial ocean view. Mostly quiet but next door to staff area so a little noisy in the morning. We never really went down to the beach except to watch planes. Lot of fun but don’t wear a hat, keep your mouth closed and hang on to each other!!
One side of adult side has its own very small beach area but we never visited. Just saw walking to and from meals.
The only real negative experience was dress code. Husband had on a very nice, very expensive, crew neck designer “tee-shirt” at dinner. We were seated without incident but someone came up after we’d ordered and said husband needed shirt with collar. She then proceeded to berate the person who seated us, right there in front of the entire restaurant. She didn’t come right out and say we needed to leave or he needed to change, but I’m sure she expected us to. My husband is stubborn and he very quietly told her we weren’t leaving. It does seem like a silly rule for an open air, beach side restaurant in the Caribbean but rules are rules, I guess. Anyway, men, bring your collared shirts.
There are a few restaurants within walking distance and casino across the street.
This was a little pricey for what we got, but we had a nice time. The resort is very close to the airport and in downtown area. You don’t get that island tropic atmosphere outside the hotel “gates” so this is the only reason I’d probably stay somewhere else if I ever returned.

A particularly satisfying experience, for the very first time.

Dorothée and Daniel coming from Sainte-Luce small seaside town of Martinique. 2 quite exceptional days in this super classy hotel. A top staff throughout the site. We were also particularly pleased to have a contact person who speaks French at the reception in the person of Solanyi to help us in our mother tongue. Which was very important when you are non-English speaking in a territory where English is the language. It was Dorothea's birthday on May 8, and we were treated in our room to a special decoration for the occasion that was offered to us by the reception leader, as well as a bottle of champagne. In short it was a very good time spent in a beautiful hotel, with attentive and competent staff. Very good food in restaurants. We will definitely return on our next holiday.

All over the island what a great time

Our Bartender Damion At the Cantina was one of The best bartenders always kept us laughing and full of drinks one of most memorable vacations ever. Great people great vibes

Horrible do not stay

We stayed at the resort/hotel for 5 nights. We booked a signature island view room. The view was of the garbage dumpster with the smell to match. I immediately asked for another room was told they wet booked for our remaining trip.
The beds and pillows uncomfortable
Shower drain clogged with hair so water all over the floor. Poor drainage system.
Waited 2 days to have our room cleaned after I complained to the manager. I specifically requested to have the manager come to our room to speak to the manager. No one ever came. They sent someone to clean the room instead.
The casino is a joke! A few slot machines
Food was mediocre the main buffet was the worst of the 5 restaurants. The Italian restaurant is their luxury 5 star dining please dress accordingly or you will be rudely turned away.
1 adult swim up bar full it got better as the days went on
No entertainment
Pool closes at 7pm
Long wait for beach towels
The beaches were the best part of the stay. We spent two days at mullet bay beach OFF the resort.
Everything off of the resort the food as well as friendliness off the locals was 100 times better.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend.
I have stayed at several places in different countries and this is by far the most disappointing trip. My family made the best of the trip because that’s what we do however u would never return to this island or resort.

I've received exceptional customer service provided by Sonijka Clark-James @ Sonesta Maho in July 15-19. She was not only courteous but extremely professional. My family and I have been traveling and visiting numerous offshore resorts. This was the first time in over a decade that we came in contact with service at this high of a caliber. We not only felt welcomed but cared for the entire stay. We had an enjoyable stay and will return. Thank you, Sonijka this kind of service deserves 10 stars.
