Quiet and clean place surrounded by nature
From the deck by the pool you have beautiful views and you can spot birds and monkeys. We have already seen about 20 species of birds here. There are some frogs and turtles in the pond. Monkeys in the trees. Very nice.
The staff is very friendly and takes care of the retreat perfectly. They are also available to deal with questions or requests. Srikanth the chef has cooked for us, is creative with the menu and thinks along with the guests. and is also good company. Thanks for the good care Srikanth!
For us it was the base to visit Bundala park. Mainly because this park is known for its animal-friendly safaris. Srimal Safari did a great job of this. At Malala Resort people also think about this. We skipped Yale Park because it's not about the animals, it's about the tourists. The owners of Malala Retreat had tips on how to visit Yale in a pet-friendly way (entrance 5). For us the tip came too late, but take advantage of it.

Breathtaking view
Chef Fazal was very friendly and helpful, his staff was was very good as well.
The swimmingpool was a welcome treat, but the most beautiful was the breathtaking view from the pool and the restaurant, a huge variety of animals did their very best to amuse us.
We surely would recommend Malala Retreat to anyone.
