Great family catch up
We stayed bed and breakfast, the breakfast was fab with both continental style and the full English, which was always fresh and hot.
They also had a lunch and evening menu and a sandwich menu, of which the fish goujon on ciabatta bread was my favourite.... The beef & ale pie from the evening menu was very big and very yummy also..
The staff were always very helpful and polite and always had a smile for you... One member of staff who worked in the bar (David) is an asset to the company, always cheerful and greeted you with a big smile and a warm welcome, he knew the bar like the back of his hand and seemed to know his job very well.
My only downside was the rooms are in need of a bit of TLC... They are comfortable and clean but a few touch ups here and there wouldn't go amiss.
All in all we had a fabulous 4 days there and would definitely go back.

Comfortable and relaxing
The quality of food in the restaurant was very good but evening meal did seem a little expensive.
The general decor of the hotel is a little tired but I suppose is in line with the hotel being a period property.
I will definitely staying again when I am on business in the area.
