Concerns Around Racial Profiling of Guests
The first woman was told her reservation could not be found, even though she had a valid confirmation clearly displayed on her phone. The second was denied a room because she presented a U.S. passport as identification—a completely legal and valid form of ID. When questioned, the hotel claimed passports weren’t accepted because of a “no locals” policy—a policy that is nowhere to be found on their website or booking materials.
It’s hard not to see this for what it was: racial profiling. There was no legitimate reason for either of these women to be turned away, and the inconsistent, arbitrary enforcement of so-called policies only seemed to apply to them.
This kind of discrimination has no place in our community—or anywhere. I strongly urge management to address this incident, apologize to the women affected, and provide staff with real training on anti-discrimination and implicit bias.
Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone.

2. We have a no locals policy which requires checking addresses. US passports do not have addresses. This policy is actually listed not only on every website we are allowed to post it on in relation to our hotel, but it's actually the first line in the picture you shared with your review.
3. We provided options such as a recent utility bill that show the name and address so we can match the face in front of us to the face on the passport, and then the name on the passport to the name on the utility bill (or whatever). This was not provided.
4. Saying that it's not explicitly stated that we require a picture ID and something to prove your address when it's the line above that says we don't take locals is like saying that you didn't know you couldn't hit me in the face with a tire iron and because the law doesn't explicitly state that tire irons are considered weapons when swung at someone's face, it's not assault.
Don't make this about something it's not. If you're going to shout discrimination every time you have a struggle, you're going to struggle for the rest of your life. You don't know me or anyone here, how dare you go there instead of owning up to the real issue - lack of proper identification to ensure compliance with hotel policy.
