Fabulous hotel with amazing staff who can’t do enough for you. Made to feel welcome the minute we stepped across the threshold.
This is classic style Italian hospitality at its best.
This hotel captures the magic of Lake Maggiore and adds to the experience immensely

Wonderful Stay!

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Special mention to all the staff at check in who were very kind & helpful! We had 2 rooms for our family of 4 which were ready before the check in time, spotlessly clean and spacious with amazing views & lovely balconies. The breakfast choice was plentiful, with a cold buffet or a hot choice, all of excellent quality and quantity. Special mention to the housekeeping staff who kept the rooms and the entire hotel wonderfully clean & tidy, discretely & quietly but always with a cheery hello! The location was beautiful and only a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Stresa where plenty of great restaurants can be found. Absolutely no faults, can not praise it enough & would highly recommend staying at this lovely hotel! This is our second time staying in The Astoria & it won’t be the last! Thank you to the whole team!

It was nicely located and easy to reach everywhere.
Although we put requests on higher floor room, the request was not reached to the hotel and we were obliged to stay the first floor room which we didn’t like.

Nice, but with some flaws

I was at this hotel a few years ago and I had a good memory of it, so I went back. The lobby and the bar are quite elegant, as is the lawn in front (even if it is artificial, it makes a good impression). The cleanliness of the common areas and the room is very good. Even though we went out in the late afternoon, we found the bed made upon our return. Precisely for this reason, I cannot explain why, once the two paper cups found in the minibar were used, they were not replaced with new cups in three days. There are glass ones in the bathroom, but I used them for toothbrushes since the specific tools were missing. On the other hand, a shining bathroom with an excellent shower. Too bad about the single roll of toilet paper that forces you to be frugal, not knowing if they will behave like they did with the paper cups. The breakfast is quite varied, but the scrambled eggs gave me the idea that freeze-dried eggs were used. The juices are also not up to the standard of the rest. Last note regarding the parking. Upon arrival, I was diverted to a courtyard on a street behind the hotel, while there were free spaces inside the hotel. In Naples, they say "Some children and some stepchildren" to highlight the differences in treatment.
