Weekend bellissimo!

I stayed for a weekend with my partner and we had a great time! The environment is very nice, clean and familiar. The staff is very courteous and always available. We enjoyed the great pool to the fullest! The restaurant seems recently renovated and we enjoyed a nice romantic dinner. Ci torneremo volentieri!

Disappointing Experience at La Cavalera – Poor Hospitality

My boyfriend and I stayed at La Cavalera in Augusta, Sicily from October 10 to 12, 2025. This was a special trip for us, I was meeting his family for the first time, and it was also my first time visiting Sicily. Sadly, our experience at this hotel fell far short of expectations.
We were especially disappointed by the behavior of the restaurant staff. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant with about 10 family members, and throughout the evening, the waitresses were visibly impatient and quite rude. The service felt cold and unwelcoming, which was upsetting during what was meant to be a joyful family gathering.
What made it worse was that this was my first impression of Sicilian hospitality, which I had always heard was warm and generous. Unfortunately, that was not what we received at La Cavalera.
Thankfully, after checking out and staying at other hotels in the area, our experience improved drastically. We were treated with kindness and care elsewhere, exactly the kind of hospitality I had hoped for from the start.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously. No guest should feel the way we did, especially during such an important and personal moment.

DEFINITELY DO NOT BOOK HERE

POSITIVE: Bed was comfortable and outdoor grounds beautiful as advertised.
NEGATIVE: Room was smelly and decadent, as was the bfast hall. The walls of the room was dirty and smudged. The room was nothing like advertised. The hotel bfast did not cater for lactose intolerant. For 3 days, they claimed they ran out of soya milk. The pool was big as shown. It was available for guests on a Sunday, but on Monday, the pool was used for organised sports activities and people using it to train swimming, so it was not available for guests. Finally, I was told off as I did not 'borrow' the shoes cover used by my husband some 15 minutes before to enter the gym toilets, as not to waste!!! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL

The dinner never made

We were there for the New Year's Eve dinner 31.12.2024, simply painful from the aperitif never arrived to the dessert served at the bar counter as a soup kitchen.... Dinner poor quantity but above all poor quality.... Bad experience, shabby service....

Very nice stay

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly. Especially Laura was a good help Excellent pizzas and a Big pool With areas of shade. The rooms are clean and ventilators. A place we will visit again.
