Fabulous family resort.
We have just returned from a lovely week's holiday at the montebello resort and had a fantastic time there.
If like me you were concerned about the reviews let me put your mind at rest.
Most of the negative reviews were about the food... after just being there I can't for the life in me understand what the problem was because the food is great, breakfast, lunch and dinner you will always find something you like. My husband and one of my grandsons are fussy eaters but trust me they ate ..a lot!!
The rooms are clean bedding changed I think every 2-3 days towels daily.
Beds are comfortable.
Shower area clean and shower head good and powerful.
The staff honestly can't do enough for you.
Big shout out to Fred the photographer he's a lovely guy and his photos are amazing and smiler the restaurant manager who quickly became our favourite staff member nothing is to much trouble for him.
The pool is cleaned daily and the pool area is spotless.
I would return to the Montebello in a heartbeat so if you've booked and are worried please relax and if you're thinking of going book it now it's fabulous.

An Incredible Stay!
I just checked out after spending 7 days here, and I truly can't say enough good things.It was such a lovely experience from start to finish . The staff are absolutely exceptional, the service was flewless.From the warm welcome at check-in, to the attentive bellboy, to the wonderful waitstaff especially Yusuf every interaction felt thoughtful and genuie.
Snack was a highlight. Chefs called Remi and Mukedis ( I do not know if I've written their names correctly) They make their own specialities, deligthful touch indeed and We did enjoy drinks at the bar, and wow what a treat. Our room was perfect, my partner and I both slept incredibly well. The location couldn't be better.

Great place Great staff but shame about a few things that need changing
Overall this place is very good a few 5 stars in places but overall a 4 star unless they improve on my disappointing notes here
We came as a family of 5 4 adults and a 14 yr old
First of all the staff are fantastic they can't do enough for you they're great
From the cleaners to the dining staff
Ice-Smiler ( Iczmiler ) Mahmamet, Farak and many more in the dining areas as they all want to help and make your stay enjoyable with them
The photographer Fred is such a lovely man and he's good at remembering your names ( well most times as I'm married to Gill now who ever she is )
The Animation team, Fifi, Luke, Hassan and Ceema (sorry if i've spelt your name wrong sweetie ) are fantastic, never ending fun and always there to entertain you, kids club, darts, aerobics, fun games or water polo then the evening entertainment including the bingo added to this, these guys want to entertain you and they do so you won't be disappointed
Food was plentiful so many choices for all and at most times too, breakfast lunch afternoon ice creams, pizza, pasta or burgers then dinner and again so much choice
Alcohol was plentiful and sometimes the spirits were extra strong I'm told, the wines were ok so a reasonable choice for all here
The pool and surroundings was always kept clean tidy, the pool itself is big with plenty of room
Our room shower had been updated, newly tiled with rain shower although the controls could work properly the rest should be as well
So the disappointing areas
Sun beds all packed in so close to each other so I think they over book so we're all struggling to get sun beds
The majority of the sun beds are old plastic and out dated, they have nice cushions which were comfortable but trying to get the back rests in position wasn't easy and often would collapse on you when you wanted to lean your back against them, in the end we managed to arrange the newer beds to use which were much better and didn't collapse
So the gripes or things they need to change

The rooms are outdated with hair dryers that were out of the seventies
All the walls in our room were magnolia with no other colours to make it look modern just classic tenant style paint on the walls
All fixtures need to checked that they work well and get these fixed asap if they don't, our cupboard door was almost hanging off and nothing was done with this, no notes by the cleaners to the management to get these dealt with ( only little things but attention to detail is important and I wouldn't have mentioned this if it was sorted ) perhaps the cleaners are worked too hard as they're for long hours
The Smokers
They just don't give a damn when or where they light up and time after time blowing smoke all over you or it drifting in your face whilst being close to them !,
Around the pool whilst laying on the sun beds then the bar areas ! why are they so inconsiderate and selfish in not thinking of the people who are around them that don't smoke and hate the smell ? ! if they only cared how they smelt and what they do I'm sure they might change their habit and hopefully they might one day
Perhaps designated smoking areas
Wifi is poor in most areas
Late check out cost
We arrived just before midnight and this is supposed to be all inclusive, there wasn't any hot food anywhere with no drinks either we as only offered a roll which was bland and tasteless, there was no where to get a drink of any sort only in your room !
We arrived late and of course we would be leaving late, our pick up time was at 6pm and check out was at midday, I asked for a late check out and they wanted £70 per room for roughly 4 hrs ! this is wrong as we had only had 6 days not 7 as per our holiday and this needs looking at it wasn't as as if they were full either

Anyway you won't be disappointed if you stay away from the smokers leave early and are lucky enough to have a room that looks and functions properly

Half term break
Was greeted by very friendly night staff who provided us with sandwiches and took us to our room.We had booked a family room and was pleased to have 2 separate bedrooms with having our 14 year old son with us.Rooms were fine,fridge n tv in both rooms ,bed was comfortable,balcony n air conditioning.Bathroom was a good size n rooms were clean.Food was very good all day but every meal was just warm…I appreciate it’s difficult to keep everything piping hot but maybe have a microwave for people that want there food a bit hotter.Animation team were fantastic as was Fred the photographer.Sunbeds were hard to come by..but we did come at half term …little cramped around the pool but it was a busy week.Great location n staff are incredible and so friendly. I would definitely return but out of the school holidays

Beautiful hotel
Check in was very easy and we were taken straight to our room.
We had a swim up room which was very nice. We found the pool a little cold but others didn't mind and went into it straight away.
Our cleaner was extremely friendly and went above and beyond.
Food was fine and you will find things to eat.
Everyone at this hotel are very friendly and professional.
