Hotel Sonne in Amden - where everything is right

We spent two nights here, and everything was just right. Price / performance is outstanding. The rooms are large, without balcony, but with a wide window front. Very comfortable beds. The food was very good, the staff friendly and set up, everything was uncomplicated.
The location is also top, and there is a nice sun terrace.
We felt like old friends after just two days and would love to come back!

Great Place, Lovely Management

I stayed here last night and had a lovely time. The hotel is nice and clean with stunning views of the surrounding area. The restaurant has delicious food. It's easy to access by bus, if needed. Very friendly owners. Would stay again.

Trying to book a table at the Restaurant SOnne

I have just tried today to call the Restaurant/Hotel Sonne to book a table, with some colleagues, as a farewell lunch for a friend.
Trying to speak English to know if I could book a table, I have been immediately rejected in a very misbehaved way by a lady who, told me bluntly "No English" and kept on in a very unpleasant tone in German.
It has been a very frustrating experience.
Might be the best Restaurant / Hotel in this area, but if this is the warmth with which they are ready to welcome their international guests (or any guests), I don't believe I will find out.

Gute Herberge mit schönen Zimmern

Wir als ehemalige Gruppe die vor Jahren den Kili bestiegen hat traf sich im Hotel Sonne in Amden für ein Wiedersehen, verbunden mit Wandern. Die Zimmer sind schön mit herrlichem Ausblick. Das Morgenessen ist gut Bürgerlich, das Nachtessen war sehr gut und preiswert. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Für Hotelgäste stehen 4 Parkplätze zVf. Zusammenfassend ist dieses Haus für urige Leute, und das waren wir.

Sehr vernachlässigt

Wirklich eine Schande Mann sitzt wie bei einem Messi in einer treckigen Hütte .nie wieder.Essen war okay hatte eine Pizza sonne Rand war verprand Rest war gut.bedienung hätte Angst vor der Chefin sehr schade

Danke Ihnen ganz herzlich für den Besuch bei uns in und an der Sonne. Schön, waren Sie bei uns zu Gast. Es tut uns leid, dass Ihnen der Besuch nicht gefallen hat. Wir denken, dass unsere Familie doch ein sehr gut aufgeräumtes und schönes Restaurant betreibt. Das alles mit einem herrlichen Panorama. Von einer „dreckigen Hütte“ ist das doch schon sehr weit entfernt. Da Sie von der Chefin bedient wurden, wird die Bedienung wohl kaum Angst vor sich selbst gehabt haben.
Natürlich würden wir auch gerne unsere Gäste bewerten. Und glauben Sie uns. Hier würden auch Sie nicht so gut abschneiden.
