Amazing stay and amazing staff!!!
We decided to extend our stay an extra day, and Joanne, Ricardo and Claudia went above and beyond to make sure we were well-taken care of!! They truly made our experience here one to remember, and their hospitality and kindness exceeded our expectations.
Aside from the outstanding customer service, everything else here was top-notch! Our Grand View Ocean Room was beautiful with an amazing view of the ocean. We had a wrap-around patio which we didn’t expect! What a treat. The spa was gorgeous, and the integrative treatments are unique and state-of-the art. I tried the Ammortal healing sound bed, and wow, what a journey!! It’s a must-try if you visit. The beach was outstanding, the food at Tula was healthy and delicious.
I truly can’t wait to return here!! Thank you Joanne, Ricardo, and Claudia for helping make our last day amazing, and thank you to the rest of the resort staff for your hospitality!

The Good, The Bad & The Truth……..
Now the bad…..it is apparent that the builder/contractor is the owner of this resort. Unfortunately, the workmanship, quality and good execution is sorely lacking in this facility. No owner would EVER accept the low standards of the construction and finish of this facility. It is truly a shame, as the place has beautiful design but the poor quality in the construction and workmanship guarantees this place will age horribly and will not sustain. Additionally, the housekeeping staff does not clean the floors. Upon entering our $750 - $900 a night room it was full of hair in all spaces and my husband & I used a full pack of anti-bacterial wipes to clean the floors of our room/bathroom. There was spilled coffee on the main corridor floor (tile near ice machine / elevator) and we saw those coffee stains for 3 days (as the floors were never cleaned). We did not have robes in our room (as we were supposed to), so we had to go to the Spa in our clothes and change there.
We used the Spa Facilities. People had to use their own shoes as there were no sandals available, some locks on the lockers wouldn’t lock, some changing rooms were dirty, one bathroom had a toilet seat with the seat that was completely falling apart (peeling)…..Minor things - but this is supposed to be a luxury facility. That said - treatments & spa were amazing.
Bed was super comfortable, bedding & pillows were high quality. Water Closet (toilet) was tiny (as incased in frosted glass) floor very dirty (design makes it hard to get in there so I can’t imagine trying to clean). Bathroom floor dirty and making it worse there is caulk and glue all over so spots look dirty but actually are globs that are construction caulk, etc. However, room never vacuumed and floor dirty (long hair everywhere) upon our arrival. Our door was cut crooked so you could hear everything in hall and see light from the public space as some of the doors are cut crooked with large gaps. That said - bathroom design was stunning and materials were high quality. Shower, freestanding tub, vanity - all high end & very nice.
This place needs a maintenance/handyman person to target cleaning/detailing all rooms so all of the poor workmanship can be fixed. If it is brand new and looking like this - I don’t see it aging well. I heard the adjacent Residences/Condominiums have a lawsuit against the Developer/Builder (and I can see why).
All I heard was people on the phone disputing charges at Reception, at the Spa, etc. We were overcharged as well but got a receipt (from Reception) showing the credit that was supposed to be refunded. Of course, they did not credit; you cannot get anyone on the phone (as they are understaffed) so I wasn’t surprised so we just sent in the Receipt to our Credit Card company. There are Resort Fees, Valet Parking Fees, etc - which we knew but our Room Rate was wrong. Also, the website never sent me a Confirmation so I had to call Reservations to have a copy sent to me.
Basically, it comes down to poor management, poor construction/execution and not enough housekeeping staff. All of the guests did say this to each other, as it was apparent to all. I read the reviews before I came, so I was somewhat prepared - super disappointed (and grossed out) about our room floor being not clean. However, management needs to realize they have GREAT STAFF and if you want to charge LUXURY ROOM RATES then you need to PROVIDE A LUXURY EXPERIENCE. You can’t cut corners and expect people not to notice.
I hope the owners/management get it together and either rise to the occasion or sell the business to someone who can. It would be a shame for all of the staff to lose their jobs but if some major changes are not made - I don’t see this place lasting more than 5 years….I wish them all the best….

This glitter is far from gold!
When we were l couldn't get the valet app to work. I mentioned it to the valet who said, yea, sometimes it's wonky. I replied- this whole place is wonky. When he brought my car around he said to me privately- you were right about what you said- this whole place is just... off. So don't trust the glitter, this place is overpriced fools gold.
Food & drinks
Avoid the restaurants, the prices are high and the customer service of the staff is terrible. The "not my table" culture is dominant. When I called another waiter over when ours never came around - instead of asking- how may I help? He approached with- Is there a problem??? It's just so off putting.
Noteworthy details
If your expectations and experiences of a 5 star hotel are that of Forbes Standard and Five Diamond, you will not only be overwhelmingly disappointed but also highly annoyed by the lack of staff training and customer service. You need something? ask a staff member and they'll point in the general direction as they keep walking, you are not their problem.

Nice hotel, lots of issues that were not addressed
The door going out to the balcony could not be locked. Not a major issue since we were on the 7th floor, however we informed the reception staff (one was in the room with us when we checked in and noticed the problem) but nothing was done about it.
Between the two beds, the power outlet only works when the lights are on. Not very smart if you expect your phone to charge at night…
The room was serviced but the used coffee cups were left in the room. They were not removed or replaced during our two-days stay.
The floor in the bathroom is not designed properly. It should be angled towards the drain, to allow the water to drain, and it is not. Water from the shower goes everywhere on the bathroom floor. Beside the fact this is annoying, it creates a potentially dangerous situation if a guest slips.
Upon checkout I again complained and left a hand-written note with a list of the issues.
Overall a disappointing experience.

Exactly what I needed <3
Everyone I met was so nice, warm and welcoming. Everyone went above and beyond to help us with any little issue (like figuring out what to pack for my toddler to eat on the plane ride home), and they did it with such ease and joy.
The room, facilities and the beach were all so clean. Per others reviews, I noticed one of the outlets didn't work, but the one next to it did -- such a minor issue. As a brand new resort, everything felt super fresh. My only regret was not staying longer and trying out their spa/wellness offerings.
Simply put, I can't wait to go back again.
