A pleasant stay

Had a stay here for a night while passing through Kathmandu. The room was good, and Mr Alam and the rest of the staff were nice. It’s in a good location around Thamel and the restaurant outside was good too.

Great place to stay in Thamel !

Thamel Grand Hotel is located on the outskirts of Thamel, central Kathmandu, in perfect walking distance to most shops and restaurants in the area.
In direct connection, just a few steps from the Thamel Grand Hotel is the Black Olive restaurant, where you can buy food vouchers for breakfast at a favorable price at the hotel. I myself took advantage of this perk, as well as eating many of my meals there. Black Olive restaurant is a must visit if you are staying at Thamel Grand Hotel, because the food served there is really tasty, in my opinion.
Despite Thamel Grand Hotel being so close to all possible activities and proximity to both major and minor roads, I never felt that I was disturbed by traffic or anything else, but everything was to my satisfaction.
The staff at the Thamel Grand Hotel are (as Nepalis usually are) incredibly friendly and welcoming, but I would like to single out the 'Bahini' Ms Karuna Baniya in particular. She was always so incredibly nice and friendly, regardless of whether I was on my way in or out, even though we had only recently met. I always used to make small talk with her on my way in, or on my way out and she is such a warm and nice young lady, I really took a liking to her.
Thanks again Ms. Baniya for making my stay in Thamel Grand Hotel a pleasure, it was a pleasure to chat with you every time we met. .

Great spot - More than just a hotel

Great, simple accommodations in Thamel. Breakfast is included from the restaurant next door. The staff are the best part of this hotel - Ready to help with anything at anytime. Rustam led us on a tour of historic sites, introduced us to local cuisine, and booked cars when we needed a taxi.

Nice hotel in a great location... lovely friendly staff who are always on hand to help or answer questions. They can also sort taxi and trips with gudes.
