Excellent accomodation
We spent approximately 2 weeks and we really had a very comfortable stay. We arrived in the evening and keys were easily accessible . Initial thoughts were the unit was old and outdated but it eventually grew on us. Location is a 2 min walk to the beach and bus stop and there are regular buses to either Grand Baie or Port Louis. For 2 females, we felt extremely safe in the unit. The lounge room is a comfortable size and the kitchen is well equiped with a full size fridge and microwave. The bedrooms were comfortable with AC and each had an ensuite which we loved. Hot water was never a problem. We slept extremely well as there was no noise and the beds were comfortable. The washing machine provided was excellent, and essential for our stay. The unit was kept spotless by the lovely housekeeper Sangeeta who also regularly changed the sheets and provided fresh towels. I needed to contact Reza a few times and each time he was extremely responsive. If you decide to stay here a car is necessary as there are no shops to buy baguette etc nearby. Suggestions for improvement would be to replace the electrical sockets and adaptors as there were sometimes sparks when we removed the plugs (which could potentially be a problem) and perhaps provide tea/ coffee for those arriving late at night. Reza was kind enough to provide us with a later check out. Overall, a most excellent stay and highly recommended. Wish you the best Reza!

Beware of false claims
On this, I find it hard to know where to start. The residence itself was not a bad place to be if you wanted to go to other places and enjoy the island. Problem was it was not what was advertised on Booking.com. Once we made our complaint about what we were paying for we were not getting the owner (Reza) changed the wording and other things on the facilities. When we booked at the end of December, it read that it was a beachfront property and had a spa that was listed under facilities. Of course this is exactly what we were looking for. We wanted to lay in the sun go in a swimming pool walk along the beach, see the beach when we get up. There is no beachfront …what we got were a bunch of trees so we could see nothing. He also stated that it is beachfront and then changed to one minute away to the beach, but it is actually two streets up and then you still have to walk to the beach. (Five minutes) but not beachfront. There never was a spa, but I did take a screenshot where he was offering a spa on HIS facilities. It is as if he was taking everything from the hotel Mystic because there is public access to their facilities at a very high cost per day.
Upon the information that we had in the beginning, I booked from January 4 to January 15 and then realize that our flight did not leave until the 19th. So I booked before I saw the place for another four nights.. Even the pictures on Google are not correct. There is not a sofa, but there were six chairs that I had to take the cushions off from to make a bed on the floor.
Beware of places that will not refund or take any type of cancellation. I tried to cancel the last four days, and Reza was very very uncooperative. He told booking that he had to check with administration, and then replied within a minute no this was on a Sunday. So the man does lie, and I would never recommend this place to anyone. because of his attitude.

Located close to the beach, but the room was very dark and smelled awful
We stayed for four nights and were located in the appartment on the ground floor. The appartment was therefore pretty dark, sitting outside attracted lots of moskitos though. The kitchen cupboards and closet just smelled horribly like urine. The dishes and cutlery felt sticky, so you wouldn't want to use them, before cleaning them again properly.
As mentioned before, the appartment was spacious though, quiet, had a washing machine and a full equipped kitchen. It is in close walking distance to the beach and some restaurants, but to go shopping you need to have a car or take the bus to Trou-aux-Biches (Chez Popo).
The cleaning lady was nice and came every second day. When we told her that our sink in the bathroom is leeking, she checked and it was repaired the next day.
Final conclusion: we didn't feel very much at home, as of the smell and the atmosphere of the place. There's nicer appartments and houses just around the corner, which feature pools as well.

Fantastic time
Great location of the apartment and very nice and willing owner of the house.
Personally, we were very happy and like to return again.
We recommend this accommodation rather unpretentious and relaxing travelers who do not want a daily rest, do not mind washing and washing them at home, like at home. Otherwise they will be disappointed.
It is not hotel, its a self catering hotel.
Excellent quality of sleep, nicely furnished rooms, not far from 2 beaches, we personally recommend a walk for the far afternoon, about 15min. Troux aux Biches. Wonderful, local food, great choice at good prices.
Unfortunately there is no supermarket in the vicinity, the closest 40min by foot, but by bus you are there in a few minutes. Choosing an ok but a better choice offers SuperU market in Grand Baie, which is about 15 minutes by bus
Anyway, Sunway Residence is the best choice for reasonable money.

Pathetic Internet and Does not Bother the Owner
We made sure we checked the internet before we booked, but a few days after we checked-in it snapped. We were told- 'will be fixed this afternoon', 'tomorrow morning for sure' every time we called up the owner's representatives and then the owner. I had to go to a business centre in Port Louis to find decent internet and requested the owner to reimburse my direct extra costs- but he just ignored me. It took them 4-5 days to connect a different wire. For the rest of our stay it was patchy at best- working for 5 minutes and then off for hours and even when working it was 0.1Mbps on speedtest. Rest of the apartment was okay until we happened to discover that others in the building were paying much lower.
