Excellent experience, would stay agin

Backpackers is a really great place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. The bunk rooms are large and clean and pillows and blankets are provided. There's several bathrooms and showers and the hostel provides each guest a towel on check-in. There's an unofficial curfew of quiet after 11pm. The hostel also has a large kitchen and communal fridge. Theres a large backyard with trails leading out towards the water. Overall an excellent place to stay and very good price for what they provide. The hostel is about a 20 minute walk from the busy part of town or there is a bus stop right outside the hostel. The bus will also take you from the hsotle to the Pacific Rim visitor center where the IslandLink bus drops you off, or you can walk 1.5 hours. The only downside of the hostel is it is not particularly accessible for physical limitations, the rooms are up 3 flights of steep stairs. However, I would stay there again

Book here for the Customer Service Alone!

I have stayed here in the past and really enjoyed it. I love that its a relatively affordable hostel in an area filled with expensive stays. I had issues with Hwy 4 for my last trip and Andy (contact) was amazing and stayed in touch and assisted me with my booking changes the entire time - always getting back to me right away - Going above and beyond.

Avoid at all cost!

Very bad experience- lousy room, tiny and noisy with uncomfortable beds. Terrible owner not polite who took 2 days to bring us an additional blanket. Full of interdiction- you really feel like you are here to pay and leave. Owner should think about changing job or just be courteous to his clients. All prepaid so wish we could have left after first night!

A perfect Port in a Storm

While we were staying at Surf Junction Campground a massive storm dropped volumes of water on us and we needed to find shelter. Luckily the C&N Backpackers Hostel had one family room available for just that one night! We came in, dried off, and had a civilized night in a massive storm. My teenagers hung out in the common room and chatted with friendly strangers, and in the morning the sun came out and so did we.

my kids didn't want to leave

Best place ever - we where there for three nights and the last night we invited our kids out for dinner, they refused they wanted to stay at the hostel to have dinner. The hostel felt almost like home, we loved our stay, the service was great, and the location was awsome. We will come back, on day. We are tomorrow going in a 4 star hotel at Victoria and my kids said they would rather stay here for an extra night - so alle in all we chilled here, and had a great time
