Fantastic would highly recommend

Location was fabulous, close to shops, beach train station, bars and restaurants. Close to the old town. Atmosphere was great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was airy clean and spacious. Although no air conditioning which was disappointing especially as humidity was high. Great value for money. Food was fabulous with lots of choice and variety everyday. Cleanliness was very good. Although pool tiles could do with a clean as black mould was present in some areas. Noise level was fine. Service was great, no complaints. All in all would highly recommend this hotel. Could do with some modernisation.

Hotel terrible

You get what you pay for, I would not reccomend, definitely not if your going with children. If you want a hotel just to sleep in, then suppose it's okay for that, depending what floor your on, as level 5 has air con, the rest do not! Food is terrible, drinks are horrible, even the soft drinks/ mixers are cheap, cocktails are watered down, asked for a sex on the beach, was told by the bar man he could do a red or green cocktail! Food, well its the same everyday, nothing labeled, which was a concern due to having people with us that have a shell fish and nut allergies, restaurant hasnt got air con, so whilst your sat in there, your sweating. The all inclusive experience definitely was not worth paying that little bit extra for. Pool area is rather small, no life guard, well the barman was aslo life guard apparently. Very outdated decor, beds aren't the best and pillows are bad. Cleanliness isn't great, the cleaners made one bed and left the other un made, found sweets and other items under beds. So main points if you book this hotel, make sure your not a fussy eater, if you are, there is a McDonald's a few minutes walk away, supermarket over the road for drinks and proper alcohol, pack a decent pillow, and definitely tick the option for air con!

Lovely family holiday

We had a week at this hotel and I was dreading it based on the previous reviews…but we actually had a really lovely holiday. I found the staff very friendly and welcoming, particularly the lady on reception who helped us book the water park, sort a packed lunch and when we needed a taxi to the airport. The lovely bar staff who would have our drinks before we could ask for them also need a mention!
The food wasn’t particularly varied, but we always found something to eat and what we had was nice, I particularly enjoyed the salads.
The location is great, we were on the beach in 5 minutes. The kids enjoyed throwing some bread/biscuits in, and watching all of the fish come through their snorkels.
There are some really good restaurants nearby, particularly La Riera (always a short queue for a table, but very worth the wait!)
The hotel is very clean and tidy.
To address the not so good - the room was not air conditioned and we hired a fan and slept with the balcony doors open (€20 for the week). I was ok with this but obviously depends how sensitive to heat and noise you are, and wouldn’t be possible with small children.
The dining room is also very hot, we could cope with it at breakfast and lunch, but ate out most evenings.
There aren’t many sun loungers, but plenty of tables and chairs (and the lovely beach nearby).
Tip: take an extension lead if you have devices to charge

Could do better

The staff is great! It would be a very beautiful establishment with a little maintenance and decor updated to modern tastes. Our room on the 5th floor was very decent, clean, functional A/C. That is apparently not the case for all the rooms. Nice sea view. The pool is small but has the merit of being there. And 1 street from the beach facing the access, and 5 minutes from the pedestrian center. The breakfast is basic but you can eat. We booked on-site with negotiation of the price and the room. So very good value for money just for sleeping. But do not pay the normal price!

You have to pay extra €44 per night for an air con

Hi I've just booked the holiday with on the beach at the hotel Terramar unfortunately on entering hotel the hotel was very warm which was unexpected furthermore when we entered the room at 2 am the room was above 30° . On complaining this to the hotel reception we were told it's €240 charge for the 6 days extra for an air con. On this note it was demanded that we pay €240 before the room was allowecated for us.
Hence this we paid it because as it is we were stuck in the 30°room with no ventilation apart from patio door which is sun directly beats on.
The dining room is at the same temperature as at the room with no air con.
On complaint of this to management we could have a fun for the room for €5 per night.
The final nail in the coffin when you get to the reception it's fully air con.
Please be aware there is no air con on standard room unless you are willing to pay extra £44 per night. It's a money milking!!!
Air con should be essential in the hot countries like Spain.
