an excellent hotel with a beautiful view

This place is perfect for a quiet vacation, although it is at a minutes drive from Ax-les-Thermes. Perfect for skiing and perfect for your summer vacation. Staff is very friendly. They work hard and with a heart for their clients. Don't look any further for your hotel. I find this the place to stay.

Charming but...

The hotel is a charming old chateau, but it is old. The rooms have been updated with care, are clean and our shower was great. The family who runs it is fantastic, very friendly and helpful. I suspect the overall upkeep is a challenge and those with allergies to mold may want to reconsider.

Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean, good restaurant

This hotel is a bit dated but that is more than made up for by the very friendly staff (the hotel is family-run), the superb evening meal, the fact that the place is spotless and it is very good value compared with central Ax. We were on a motorbike trip across the Pyrenees and this place was ideal - easy to find, safe and secure parking, good value and excellent food.

nice sleep, nice people

nice for what it is, we just needed a bed for the night and our dog was also welcome, wifi was horrible but it was free, so no complaints. WE had a nice view and smoking was also allowed in the room. If we would pass we would probably stay there again

lovely but dated

Knowing that we were going through Ax les thermes we pre looked at hotels in the area and found that Saturday night is not a good time to find a room. We found "Le Castelet" and it had rooms. And so it was after some 5 hours of fantastic mountain roads we arrived at the hotel. In its day it must have been the place to be. Sadly it was starting to age and it appears that cost of maintenance was taking is toll. We loved the place for its character and aged beauty. The room we were given was adequate although not having a shower was a blow. We had taken a room with a solarium which over looked the mountains and caught the evening Sun, very nice. There was a restaurant which was closed so a trip back to the town, (4km) was required. Luckily breakfast was provided by the hotel and so was a very good coffee. The staff which appeared to be just a middle ashes couple were really nice and were so helpful. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting but sadly just a wee bit far from the main attractions that the town held. We would go back again if it was still open, it was a lovely stop over.
