The Most Unexpected Shangri-La in China
Among all Shangri-La Hotels in China, Shangri-La Nanning is truly a game-changer. Originally planned as a Grand Hyatt, it switched brands right before opening. Home to the world’s tallest Shangri-La and the world’s highest outdoor pool, it has been a landmark hotspot from day one. It perfectly showcases China Resources’ refined philosophy: prioritizing real project quality over mere brand labels.
Perched in the 403 meters tall Guangxi China Resources Tower, Guangxi’s tallest skyscraper, it towers over the Shangri-La London Shard and China Hotel Beijing’s high-rise counterparts, dominating Nanning’s skyline. Breaking the traditional style of classic Shangri-La, the hotel was jointly designed by three international studios, including Studio Munge and Nao Taniyama. Its lobby features intricate local art pieces, the Zhuang Splendor copper relief and Five Elephants Blessing copper painting elegantly showcase Guangxi’s ancient culture, mountain legends and ethnic heritage.
The 320 rooms and suites are designed by Cheng Chung Design. I stayed in the Horizon Premier Room, offering an ultra-spacious layout and stunning 270° skyline views. Warm earthy tones, subtle traditional textures and delicate cloud patterns create a calm, sophisticated ambiance. The innovative open bathroom brings in maximum daylight and aerial scenery, ditching the cramped, enclosed feel of traditional luxury hotels.

Nanning Shangri-La experience directly fills up! A landmark high-altitude hotel in the city, the 68th floor cloud lobby has stunning views and exquisite design details. Floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views overlooking the Yangjiang River and city skyline, soft and comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. The 71st-floor high-rise infinity pool is stunning at sunset, with plenty to do. Buffet breakfast category is rich, cooked old friend powder authentic, staff service thoughtful, down stairs direct to Vientiane City shopping super convenient, whether travel or business stay is highly recommended!

Stay at Shangri-La, the world's tallest
Shangri-La in Nanning gave me a great experience, staying in the luxury loft honorable queen bed room, located on the 77th floor of the landmark building in Nanning, providing a 270 degree view from floor to ceiling windows, with night views of the city of Nanning, especially at sunset, watching the sun set, bustling streets full of traffic and buildings' night lights. A sense of life winning naturally rises from the heart.

Shangri-La Experience in Nanning
This stay at Shangri-La in Nanning is a perfect experience. The hotel team has transformed the concept of "detailed and thoughtful" service into every warm moment within reach, leaving our family with a deep and wonderful memory.
We prefer a wide view and, with just a brief mention before check-in, the hotel thoughtfully arranged our room on the highest floor of the 88th floor. Sliding through the door, the magnificent urban paintings and sprawling riverscapes of Yicheng unfold beneath its feet, a surprise remembered for its satisfaction that sets a lofty tone throughout the holiday. Whether it's the dust on arrival or the rush on departure, the concierge in the lobby can always come forward with a genuine smile at first opportunity and take over our luggage voluntarily and securely. This unspoken rapport and timely assistance makes us feel relaxed and dignified.
A vignette in the journey gave us a glimpse of what constitutes “hospitality beyond expectation”. Upon our arrival in Sydney, we suddenly remembered that an important courier had not been collected. We immediately contacted the hotel by telephone and Mr Li Changlong in the lobby and Ms Eileen Huang Yi, duty manager, quickly reached out. Not only did they patiently appease us, but they also contacted and actively coordinated with great professionalism to bring the problem to a successful conclusion in a short time. They show not just a duty, but also a passion and responsibility to sincerely solve the problems of their guests.
The charm of Nanning Shangri-La lies not only in its hardware at the top of the cloud, but also in this team of customer-focused and dedicated employees. Their actions perfectly illustrate the true meaning of luxury service - which is to see the heart in the nuances and make every guest feel at home. We are sincerely grateful and have started looking forward to our next reunion.
