Beautiful View
So, hi again is that time of the year when I can write about hotels and hostels...yes, I'm on vacation mode...and this time I went to Bolivia, Isla del Sol. Beautiful place, very quiet and if you like nature you will love it. I spent the night in this beautiful place Inti Wayra, my room #8 the one with he most spectacular view of the Lake Titicaca, the room is very nice, the decoration loveeeed it. There is a book where you can leave your comments (I asked for a sign on the house), the person who is in charge, José, very nice man. He made me an amazing breaksfast and a coca tea to die for. This is a very very good option if you want to stay there.

Quite a hike up the Inca stairs and more
The good: 1)The staff were an older lady and gentleman who were quite friendly (no spoken English)
2)The room is basic, spacious with a nice view of the lake. 3)The breakfast was made to order and comprised of fresh juice, yogurt with granola and sweet crepes. 4) dining room for breakfast has a nice view of the lake. 5) common yoga space with mats was handy for some stretching while trying to get over the altitude
The bad: 1)The place is perched high up and it a lot of effort getting up there on account of difficulties from the high altitude. 2)There is no power outlet in the room itself. 3)The shared bathroom was poor (no running water at all in the morning). Could not even flush!

Lovely host, great views!
The hostel is at the top of the hill so expect a few breaks or rent a mule! But it’s worth the effort for awesome views of the lake. Breakfast is good with yoghurt, fruit and cereal then delicious pancakes with juice. The rooms are clean and beds warm. We loved the host who was very helpful with anything we asked and amazed us with how much work he gets through in a day!

A great place to stay if you can make it to the top :)
The hotel is placed near the top of the island, so getting there is an epic climb. However most things that you would want to do on the Isla de Sol are also on the top, so the climb is unavoidable... The road to the ruins passes by the hotel, you can also find a row of restaurants a few blocks more uphill, and the road to platform for viewing the sunset also is just there. So all in all hotel´s location is perfect.
The breakfast is very good, shower reasonable. Instead of TV you get a great view over the lake. And the silence is just something amazing - not for nothing there are no cars on the island; of course the donkeys do contribute with some beautifil songs at times :)
The hotel is run by a family, it feels more like a homestay, so don´t expect anyone to be there waiting on you hand and foot all day - mostly you can find one of the family members going around their daily tasks somewhere on the property if you need something.

The best view for sunrise
Me and my boyfriend stayed in Inti Wayra for one night only, we walked from the secondary port and although there’s no signs from this side we asked the locals and was easy to find. Once we arrived Jose was super nice and welcoming we had a room on the first floor with our window facing the lake and the mountains. He also gave us some tips on where to go for food, all the restaurants and little shops are very close and walking to a viewpoint for sunset is easy.
The best part though was watching sunrise from this hotel, I accidentally woke up very early and looked through the window and it was so beautiful we ended up watching the sunrise for more than an hour. The colors of the lake at this time are like nothing I saw before and I’ve been to the lake many times.
After this we got served a delicious breakfast, thank you don Jose! If we’re ever back in the Sun Island we would only stay here!!
