Gottfried

Hotel Gottfried is beautifully located in the heart of Linz’s old town, inside a charming historic building that gives the stay a very authentic atmosphere. The room was very clean, the staff were very kind and welcoming, and overall the experience was very positive.
The hotel also has a restaurant that looked excellent. Since I arrived late, I decided to avoid a heavy Austrian dinner this time — but I will definitely try it on a future visit.

There are also other hotels.

Both rooms for us 4 were completely overheated, felt 35 degrees. In the middle of winter.
Very poor sleep. Also no air conditioning available. Opening windows is not an option: Outside noise and lots of smokers outside the restaurant. The complaint was answered as follows:
'Some people just like it warmer, the attitude can't be regulated individually', etc. Technically a nonsense, goes elsewhere.
The review was also given by others, one even almost 10 years ago. Probably never changes.

Very neat room, good beds and lovely shower.

The room was very clean and very modern furnishings.
Right in the center yet very comfortable.
Furnishing restaurant very nice and good cuisine, especially for gourmets.
Parking garage 40 meters away.
Price quality definitely good, Recommended.!

A disaster of appetizer and main coarse

Beuschl can be very good...this one was a disaster. The very small filet of Branzino was slightly overcooked and the sauce with way to much canned fruit was so sweet, i had to brush it to the side. The home made paste, which was mixed into the sauce may have been the best item on the plate. My wife had the Veal saddle which I tried as well and came to the conclusion that it was the worst dish on the table. And that for Euro 43. A dry very small overcooked bone less veal chop, cut in half with three different foamy sauce ...the whole thing was a mess and that is why I write tis review.
