A nice stopover on the Grossglockner route

A nice stop on the road to the Grossglockner
The Post Inn is a very good stop on the Grossglockner road (south slope), a beautiful toll road leading to the Pasterze glacier, which is extremely popular in summer, especially for bikers. Grosskirchheim is a quiet little village and the Pension Post is a nice little Pension, with warm spaces in this little tourist village. It is a very welcoming Family Pension, offering large, comfortable and clean rooms, as well as a garden in which you can dine pleasantly in summer. Breakfast very decent considering the Award.
The Post hotel is a very good stopover on the Grossglockner road (southern slope), a magnificent toll road leading to the Pasterze glacier, a road that is extremely busy in summer, particularly by bikers. Grosskirchheim is a quiet little village and the Hotel Post is a pretty little hotel, with warm spaces in this little touristy village. It is a very welcoming family hotel, offering large, comfortable and clean rooms and a garden in which to dine pleasantly in summer. Very decent breakfast considering the price.

It was not a feel-good atmosphere!!!

We were at Hotel Post with the family (4 adults and 2 children) just to eat. The food was mediocre, but overpriced. The young waiter was very nice, but the older waitress - perhaps the boss - spread a lot of stress. We felt like beggars.

Excellent traditional small town hotel

A delightful hotel, very traditional, with pleasant grounds and lots of tables outdoor in the garden. Very clean and proper. Located in a very quiet residential area of town. Has a good restaurant. Breakfast could be better, that is the only drawback.
Because of the nature of the building (stone walls), wi-fi may not work in all the rooms, but this is not a problem, there are lots of lobby and outdoor areas to sit in if you need wi-fi.
Great value for the price paid. I would return.

Nice restaurant

Unfortunately tripadvisor does not show the restaurant separately so i need to review the restaurant under hotel even though we did not stay here. The food is good, the menu is not overly large but has nice choices including several fish choices, which is not obvious in a land locked country. I had beef once and the hotel schnitzel the other time. Both were tasty with pasta once and a special leek based potato fried dish the second time. My wife tried fishy stuff and was content with it as well. Locals tell me this is the best place to eat in Gross Kirchheim.

A grand stay at the Vital Hotel Post

We were a group of 3 women on a ski trip and the Vital Hotel Post was just perfect in every way. Our rooms had comfortable beds with private bath, including a bathtub. All was clean, well appointed and very charming, the walls in the hotel were covered in art and lovely lamps. It was very quiet between rooms, this older hotel built well and now restored to ultimate comfort. The spa was very well done. We used it every late afternoon after skiing and enjoyed! i especially loved the crystal room where one could meditate and be renewed. Bathrobes were provided for us. The food was elegant, well served and we loved the Austrian cuisine. Breakfast was also excellent and we left every morning ready for a day skiing at the Heiligenblut ski resort where the snow was cold, soft and there was lots of it. There was a ski bus free to the mountain very close to the hotel. This was excellent value and we will definitely choose this hotel again. A charming stay in a traditional hospitality.
