Friendly Host and Comfortable Cottages in Denham

We stayed in one of the cottages for a night while visiting Shark Bay, and it was a lovely experience. The cabin was spacious, clean, and the kitchen and bathroom had recently been renovated, which looked great. The layout was a little unusual, and the pull-out bed in one of the rooms wasn’t the most comfortable, but it did the job for one night.
The communal barbecue area was a great spot for dinner and had a really nice atmosphere. The manager was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Denham.

Fine if your standards are low

The important thing to know about this accommodation is that they charge exactly the same amount for absolutely appalling rooms, grubby, tatty and shabby (Red Emperor, Mackerel) as they do for perfectly decent renovated ones (Manta Ray Dolphin).
We had to ask for a bedside light (bedroom dingy) and hairdryer. The sofa belongs in a skip.
The tv is in the oddest place, impossible to see, and the curtains don't adequately cover the windows, most disconcerting at night.
Apparently the rundown grot is "heritage" and therefore ok. Well, if any fishermen from the 60s want to stay they are welcome to it...
Any good points? There is a laundry room. Bring your own, clean, pegs.

VERMIN PROBLEM - DO NOT BOOK

VERMIN ISSUE-DO NOT BOOK - We arrived to find a mouse in the accommodation along with droppings around the chalet. The owners are aware of this problem even though they say they have no issue as they have set traps INSIDE the chalet. We complained and were offered a different chalet only to find a further mouse trap and droppings in the kitchen area. The gentleman showing us around did not have authority to agree a refund so we contacted their offices (Ray White estates) to complain and request a refund as not prepared to stay in a chalet with a mouse problem. They were not remotely helpful stating that it is common practice in the area to set traps however this was not the case in the chalet we found a few hundred yards up the front. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you are prepared to share your accommodation.

Perfect base for Shark Bay and surroundings!

The village of Denham is perfect for visiting the Share Bay area and this property is in a very strategic and convenient location being on the waterfront along the main street. And 'very close to all amenities such as small supermarket, visitor center, clubs and beach.
The Cottage is spacious, three bedrooms, bathroom, small room with table, sofa and tv and small kitchen, an outdoor veranda and car parking in front of your own entrance.
The furnishings are a bit dated and unpretentious and the bathroom could definitely use a modernized one. There is also a laundry available to all.

Really sad as this location has shop much potential. Not great accommodation at all. Such huge potential.....

The cottages have one of the best locations in Shark Bay. However, we were booked for two nights but checked out after one. There is rustic and then there is just not great in any way shape or form. If a little bit of money was spent on a new bed, totally renovating the bathroom, a nice table and chairs, fixing the windows so they open, repairing the flyscreens, cleaning the mould off the ceiling, cleaning the floors and a coat of paint, the cottage we stayed in - Dugong - would be beautiful. Other cottages may be different.
