Fantastic Dinner

We have just eaten here and the food was amazing. I had the Hake it was piping hot and obviously very fresh (you’d hope as it’s from the North Sea)!
Husband had sweet and sour Chicken Goujons. Good size portion with rice and to be fair she threw some chips on too. Views over the bay we weren’t brave enough to eat outside as there are some very brazen seagulls!

A warm welcome, beautiful location, delicious food and great coffee.

We loved the warm welcome, great coffee and great food with a beautiful view of the Cromarty Firth. There are a wide range of local beers from Cromarty Brewery that we can’t wait to come back and sample more of! Jenny and her team really made us feel welcome. It was great to experience proper Highland Hospitality. We can’t wait to come back!

A Very Tired Hotel

We booked to stay at The Royal Hotel Cromarty in a dog friendly king sized room. According to their website this meant we would be in either Room 2 or 3. The photos show a large room with a very large bed. Exactly what we were looking for, as we travelled with two dogs. Unfortunately when we arrived we were shown to room 16 - not listed as dog friendly on the website and a much smaller bed than we were expecting. When I raised this with staff the lady was apologetic and said she would contact the owner. She later told me there was a plumbing issue in room 3 and room 2 was already occupied. We were offered a bottle of wine as compensation. Whilst I appreciate these things happen we should have been advised before we arrived. Later, at dinner, we were served by who we believe to be the owner. There was no apology or explanation and the warm wine was placed on the table with two glasses and she then she walked away. The food was average.
The decor in the hotel is very dated throughout and in need of modernising. We felt like we’d walked in to Fawlty Towers. The remote control in our room didn’t work and the shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold. As a result we didn't use it.
Overall we would not recommend this hotel.

Best weekend I’ve ever had.

Best weekend I’ve ever had. Made to feel very welcome. Drinks kept coming and food was top notch. Special mention to the manager and the team! They were fantastic! Special mention to Jenny, I think that’s what her name was! Best baby Guinness in town!

Bad experience

Awful customer service, horrible waitress (manager type?) , made us feel like we were unwanted there. Felt very uncomfortable the whole time and like we were an inconvenience. Won't come back here again, which is a shame as it appears to be one of the few places open in cromarty on the weekend.
