Good hotel, But we honestly expected more.
The hotel does not sit by the beach, but they have a “beach club” 15 min away. You have to put your name down on a list for the shuttle to take you. Both the shuttle and the beach get more people than what they can handle. The beach club is nice. There are different sitting/ resting options, food, drinks and well kept. They also do some kids activities there and the locals stop by trying to sell you stuff which we kind of like as it adds to the experience.
The main reason I gave it 3 stars was that you can see their BS right and left, which did not sit well with me.We have Marriott Bonvoy Gold status, which in theory entitles us to a room upgrade "based on availability" they claim they do not have rooms available for an upgrade. We asked around with their staff and everybody said "we are not too busy".We would not mind staying in the room we got, except that it is a good 20-30 min. walk to any of the main amenities of the hotel. They offer golf carts to move you around the hotel 24/7... but it is based on availability. So it is a hit and miss. Sometimes they are available, and sometimes you can wait 20 minutes for no one to show up, and you may as well start walking. Which, depending on the temperature and the things that you have to carry it can be quite inconvenient. Not only that, but the hotel also has a major lack of accessibility; it seems to be thought out only for the golf carts, which they have so little of, they don't have sidewalks so you have to be walking on the road and move out of the way for the golf carts pass by you (some are not for passengers, some of them are just janitors servicing the area)… distances are not unbearable but you will need to walk with shoes that are not for the walking because you are heading to the pool so we are walking on sandals carry everything we need for the kids to be at the pool. We asked that they change us room even in the same category, but closer so we do not have to walk so much- they would still say they do not have them available… like I say, you can tell they are not that busy. We also felt a little like guinea pigs. They assigned us to a building that is brand new. Besides being the farthest area from the hotel. This brand new building has a lot of areas that have been finished during our stay, and some others that are not open or ready yet. Our room was tiny but nice. Storage is not terrible, but we are here for 9 days, so a little more storage would help. The room comes with a cute small kitchen, but it is odd… no silverware, no dinnerware, no cleaning supplies... no nothing!. Over all the hotel food options are limited; one speciality restaurant (tepanyaki) and a small buffet paired with the bars and food by the pool. That being said, the food is tasty, and you can tell they use fresh and quality ingredients. There is no room service, and depending on what you want (like an ice cream), you might be back to walking a lot! Around 10 pm all restaurants are closed, but they have a "pantry" with instant soups & fruits that you can access at that time. The beverage selection is good. They mainly cater to families. Entertainment is average (low budget/ no budget) - beach volleyball, trivia, movie night, karaoke - no shows or anything of that nature. Staff is extremely friendly and they do try their utmost, but some areas are quite understaffed (pool areas and beach area) same person is the waiter and the bartender serving 10+ tables. While at the beach, Eduardo was great to us. There were 3 days that they were busier than the rest, and he would still flip backwards to try to get to everyone. The beach club is nice, but not very convenient. Shuttle goes back and forth supposedly every 30 minutes, but usually runs late by a lot, and you have to put your name down for the way in, but there is not a very organised way for the way out. The first bus is at 10 am, so do not expect to be at the beach very early. Once there, services start between 11:30 am and 12 pm. Do I recommend it? I guess it depends on your dynamics and your expectations. It is not bad. But it is not great. Would we go back? Maybe.

I recognize your time is valuable and appreciate the feedback you have provided.
Receiving warm and friendly service from our staff sets the tone for a great stay. This was not your experience, and I sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations.
I have shared your feedback with the associates, and as a teachable moment, we have discussed our service standards and reviewed improvement opportunities in the service they provide.
I hope you choose to stay with us again, whenever your travels bring you back to the area.

family vacation
It was a slow week and we enjoyed the quietness. No lines for any restaurants. We counted 22 pools! Lots of space to spread out and felt very private. The best part was that the pool water was warm! We found they varied in temperature and could choose based on our preference.

Very Family Friendly!
Overall, we had a great experience! What stands out most to me was the kind, friendly staff! Very kind and accommodating. Regino Gutierrez Pompa was a staff member we met while enjoying the taco truck and he was fun to talk with and very kind. His service was top notch!
The food at the buffet was perfect for breakfast with plenty of choices (many kid friendly) and we really enjoyed the taco truck with street tacos, ceviche and quesadillas. The grass park in the middle of the resort had something fun for our boys every night…it felt like summer camp. They loved running around with all the kids they met at the resort.
The pools were beautiful! Such a relaxing experience. They keep the pools very clean and the water slides, and lazy river were a big hit with our boys. I will say it seemed like the pools were inconsistently heated. One day a pool would be very chilly and then the next day like bath water. I don’t know if they rotate heating them or what, but it was a treat when we’d come to a very warm pool.
Overall, a pleasant experience. Food was better than expected for all inclusive.
I will say that the beach was not a highlight for us. But if you are happy by the pool you’ll be happy here.
